I picked this up and was quite pleased with the way it's going, even if I was a bit miffed to find out it's part 3 of however many it's going to be - I think I'm assuming at this point that it's another 6-parter, to allay any expectations of swift resolution.

So the Rung reveal turns out to be a Functionist Council fake-out, which was kinda predictable after we found out that Six-of-Twelve got his Matrix from Nominus Prime, whose Matrix was discovered to be a fake in the regular timeline. So for all his talk of a unique connection to Primus, it seems he's pretty much full of it, but thankfully Ratchet and Minimus Ambus at least should know that, and Rodimus has seen Rung's altmode before, so he should be able to call them out on that.

Anode's mysterious past gets a bit of light shone on it via Anode and alt-Anode, though I wish Roberts would speed her arc along a bit, maybe. Less of the dramatic emotional reactions and more of the getting to the point would be nice.

Whirl's fight with Killmaster is fun and once again undermines his reputation as a reliable narrator, though I don't believe for a second that Swerve and Ten are really dead. It does seem mighty convenient that the Necrobot just happened to leave Whirl's nemesis lying around in a stasis pod for him to find, though. Also, poor Cyclonus. Goddammit Tailgate, you're not even in this issue and you're annoying me.

Is... is Clicker a pen?

And so with the big cliffhanger at the end, does this mean we're finally going to see the often-mentioned Black Box Consortia? Will they ride on time? Or is it going to be yet another typical Roberts red herring?

Clicker is a laser pointer. I think Rewind made reference to all the laser pointers (as a class type) being made redundant and disposed of waaaaay back in an early issue, possibly back in the teens when they first introduced Dominus Ambus!
