Thoughts?
I really don't care much. I enjoy the show, but my interest level in the show is nothing like my interest in the books. The show is going to spoil some things, but it still won't be the same as reading it in that immersive prose of George's. Plus, several characters' fates in Season 6 will be nothing like their fates in the books--Sansa being the most glaring one.
I imagine I'll get spoiled to some degree on the Likeable Triumvirate of Tyrion, Jon and Daenerys. I can live with it, though. Wish he wrote faster but those are long-ass books, and both Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan are worse writers who write long books faster.

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

Re: A Game of Books Not Done
He's got an "out" now.
If the fan reaction to season 6 is good, he can say that it was based on his notes for the upcoming book (which can then use the same story with some additions/tweaks). If fan reaction is terrible, he can drop the blame on the studio and do something totally different with the books.
The books have been great. He's a terrific writer, even if he doesn't crank out stuff as fast as somebody like Stephen King. Let him take as long as he needs. This isn't the dark ages of nerdery. We're not going to shrivel up and die without our fix of that one, specific fantasy universe. Lot's of other stuff going on. Star Wars is good again. That's gonna spawn a dozen books before the end of the year. And Spidey's joining the Avengers in May.
Write at your own pace, George. We'll probably still be here to fork over our 26.96 when you're done.
