I just got and read the trade of Remain In Light.

HOW DID WE END UP LIKE THIS? FOUR F*CKTWADDLING MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD AND IT'S COSTA ALL F*CKTWADDLING OVER AGAIN!

Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

The more I read this the more annoying it is - it's not Costa level, it's Dreamwave level. What's the point of getting James Roberts in if the Lost Light crew are forced to say things like "Shockwave's behind all of this"? And the Fembots are straight out of late-era DW with its endless cartoon homages - let's not forget Alpha Trion's still to make an appearance in this. Ugh. Incidentally, I've just seen over at the wiki that someone tried to make a thing out of how this is the first IDW TF comic to pass the Bechdel Test, until someone else pointed out Infiltration #4.

As for the Cybertron stuff, it's just like fanfic, isn't it? And then Galvatron ripped Megatron in half but then Bumblebee showed up and Galvatron was going to kill him but then Megatron managed to beat Waspinator and shot Galvatron so Bumblebee got Megatron's body and carried his legs back to Iacon and Megatron was happy because Starscream was sad. Bleh. I was beginning to wonder if it was possible to do a Lost Light edition of Dark Cybertron that left out all the Shockwave/Cybertron bits but now I'm not even sure it's worth doing that :|

Oh, and bumprime wins the internet today for his repeated use of the word "f*cktwaddling", which I am going to try and use in conversation more often.

The knowledge this has happened really isn't moving MTMTE further up the list of things I need to get round to reading.

Honestly just read MTMTE until DC begins and skip till this crossover is finished.

Is Megatron's teeny weeny gun in the scene where he points it at Galvatron also an attempt at shattering gender demohgraphic issues with the franchise?

Don't think this issue was as bad as previous issues, mainly because it featured more of The Lost Light crew and the Dead Universe happenings, which are nowhere near the debacle that is Barber's Cybertron fiasco. And Raiz's art is superb. Forgot how good he really is.

In fairness to Barber, it's clear, VERY clear, that Hasbro has it's fingers all over this thing. All over it. It has made Barber's substandard amateurish writing even more so, and you can almost picture Roberts punching walls and biting his lip to control his being, well, controlled in what he has to write.

I'm sure that that one character Swerve was talking to is some new toy, and it's not coincidence that Bumblebee, of all freakin bots, Bumblebee is carrying a split-in-half Megatron.

But most painful to me of all is what they've done to Shockwave. We all know by now, in any continuity, by any publisher, on any planet, "Shockwave did it", sure. But I don't think I could ever describe him as "annoying" in any iteration by any publisher of TF comics until now. The freakishly awful art plays a big role in this. Apparently the artist thinks all he needs to do to draw Shockwave is draw a hexagon with a dot at the center and, Presto!, we've got Shockers.

Oh, and could someone tell me if there's a Titan behind me? LOL. I can't help but laugh at how ridiculous that scene was from last issue. Still haven't recovered. "He's behind me, isn't he?" LOL. Sheesh, that's rich.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

You lose the internet for calling me BumPrime, Jones... but yes, I liked it so much I used an asterisk rather than reduce it just to [composite word including f*ck].

Lost Light stuff was ok.

Art is very good for the lost light stuff.

The rest, pretty bad.

Find Barber's dialogue really, really poor. I think we all do, don't we.

edit - pretty sure Barber does the dead universe stuff - if it's Roberts, his dialogue in that part is wank too.

Corsscut - don't think it features him cause of any toy stuff. He's a Skids repaint that a lot of people speculated was Skids in "undercover" mode, as a member of the DJD.

Think it was an in joke, especially the way the fandom talked about him as some shadowy mystery, yet in this issue Swerve points out everybody knows who he is.

edit - Oh, apparently they are doing a crosscut toy. Well, this is a damn site less cack handed way of getting him in the story then other writers have managed.

Argh, just read it through again and that last page is truly terrible. "Hey, six armed Autobots. You may outnumber us three to one, but imagine being hit by this spanner my friend is holding. Except I'm holding her wrist, restricting her movement, so she won't be able to, you know, actually hit you with it. Scary, huh?"

Why doesn't Whirl just shoot them both and steal their escape route?
