Of X-men and monkeys.

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Could a trained monkey write the X-men and keep it selling through the roof?

Yes, and there would be heated debates over the monkey's 'offbeat genius' and 'character assassination'.

No, and what kind of a question is this?

I would never do anything so cruel as to make a monkey write X-men.

Of X-men and monkeys.

I had this question posed to me a few days ago and had to see the response from this board.

Note: This may or may not have anything to do with the release of 'X-Men: The End'.

Well the fact is they have trained a monkey, called it Chris Claremont and got it to write much X-men stories for the last couple of years.

I don't know if it's testament to the love the fans have for the characters or the blind stupidity of them but no matter how bad the X-Men books get they will always sell well...

Oh well, at least Chris Claremont didn't write Gambit out of the series to have him return a mere 8 episodes later.

(hi mr. Seagle! Killing off popular chars sucks huh?)

But then, Claremont's idea of a novel new char is a surfer boy who teleports by... surfing! (worst X-men related groan in history on my behalf)

Oh well, I guess we keep reading X-men because we hope that a new Inferno/Dark Phoenix saga can always be just around the corner ;)

I disagree. What about 'Sketch', who had the ability to turn her drawings into reality...

Claremont disgusts me.

I tuned in into X-men Evolution to see Furman's epsiodes, but I liked some other episodes as well. Rest was too kiddie for me.

Are you speaking about a new series? :?:

I bought X-Men: The End yesterday. I had no idea this was coming out. I'm just in the comic shop picking up what I missed by being away on Wednesday and see "THE END" atop a book. Wow! It's "THE END" X-Men! Grab! I get the thing home and actually look at it. Oh crap, I think. It's CC writing it. Hype level drops from 9 all the way to 2. I flip through it. See that, yes, Phoenix is back. Blah blah blah. Long story short, I didn't even read it.

So, when's issue 2 come out?

the X-Men writers right now are ****ing appalling. Austin seems to be actively turninghimself into a clairemont clone...

so obviously when they geta decent writer (Whedon) they give him a new title rather than just boot off one of the hacks.

Its sad the CC has lost it, but damn he so has, and its been apparent for years as well.

i notice we are saturated with sodding X-books again as well. bog off.

I read the book. Can somebody tell me WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!?! When does this story take place? I read New X-Men from beginning (which was good) to the end (which was still pretty good) but never bothered reading Uncanny, Extreme, Academy, and stopped reading Astonishing after issue 1.

X-Men...it used to be good...
