Michael "should be thrown into a" Bay

Has announced that in the new Mutant Ninja Turtles film (which he is producing) the Turtles will be aliens from space!
When I read that news I put on my sad face.

I absolutely gaurantee he or whoever the writers are, will justify this by saying the original origin "when you think about it" doesn't make sense.
Are they still mutants then?
And if that is up for grabs why stop there? What about age range, fighting style and species?
Middle Aged Alien Boxing Badgers here we come.

Was just in fact reading about this.

Not sure I can put it much better. Although that's Michelangelo in the picture, dagnabit.

I think this article makes an awesome point:

Michael Bay might be trolling you. Look, the internet, you’ve been pretty awful to Bay. And by you, I mean me. I’ve been awful to Bay in the words I’ve written and the attitude I’ve taken towards some of his films. If I were Bay I would definitely be doing things like this all the time, specifically to irritate people like me.

I really don't think we should give him all that credit. Trolling to get a buzz about the movie going? Too complicated, and Bay wouldn't personally get involved about perhaps tweeting or something.
I think his thought is, "Right, well they told me that I was pissing all over childhoods when I gave Optimus a mouth and Transformers into magnetic metal shavings, and then I made one gazillion dollars. So I think I've earned the right to piss on whatever I want, because clearly I'm going to be wiping it up with mountains of box office."

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

That's awesome. And that's speaking as someone who usually finds most "Imagine what a Hollywood remake of Thing X Would Be Like, probably with some things blowing up and inappropriate casting lol" spoofs far too obvious and rubbish (mainly because none of them will ever top Arnie's Hamlet. "Not to be").
Considering that, whatever we may think of their qualities, his TF films are failry faithful to the set up (despite fan moaning there's not a huge amount in them that doesn't have a precedent somewhere) I wouldn't be surprised if Bay had very little to do with this decision. I'd place money on his Executive Producers credit being similar to Spielberg's on the TF films, there to be a famous face for initial PR but otherwise just turns up to the free lunches and doesn't contribute much more than "Yeah, some explosions maybe thanks, where's my money?".
Though Bay is good at the misinformation thing, remember how he even fooled IDW into thinking Shockwave was going to be the major new villain in Dark of the Moon?
