The 3-D screen is beautiful. Much nicer than the DS Lite's (obviously). The buttons have a little "click" them, which I enjoy. The DS Lite's buttons were kind of, I don't know, mushy?
The thing weighs a little bit more than the Lite, but it's not heavy.
The 3-D effect is striking. Your eyes adjust to it almost immediately. You can choose how vivid the effect is with a slider. You're going to want to use it, too. Because after a little while at full power, the 3-D effect takes its toll on your eyes.
The included camera is a nice little gimmick. Not great quality, but you can take 3-D pictures of stuff. When I show the thing off to people, that's what I'm going to be using.
Final thoughts: The thing has potential. LOADS of potential. There is just so much that can be done with it. But now, with a grand total of a dozen games available, there's nothing that really showcases it.
Interesting note: This is the second time I've bought a DS console on launch day. I complete forgot until just recently, but I was in line at midnight when the original DS launched in 2005. That wasn't for me, though. It was for somebody on this board.

Ah, the good ol' days. Back when I had nothing better to do than stand in line at midnight to buy a video game to mail off to some dude in England who I'd never met.
