Cap and Spider Man. Thoughts?
On the Cap side, not digging the brown on the helmet. Not really digging the helmet in general, but it's hard to represent Cap's headgear realistically otherwise. Given the robobads in the background, not sure the helmet will be relegated to just flashback stuff. I DO like the way they used red straps to invoke the flag across the torso without being cheesy.
Love LOVE the Spidey. Looks more like something a kid could put together with a sewing table and an UnderArmor gift card, except maybe for the wrist red/blue transition. Also digging this much more lithe Spidey. Can we assume based upon this shot that they're going with organic webs again?

Captain America: I think it looks cheesy... but then, it's hard to do Captain America without making it look cheesy. And since I of course looked at his crotch, I may as well mention that his junk looks particularly bulge-y in those ugly slacks. He must be wearing good supportive underwear. Or a cup.
Spider-Man: *shrug*. I like it better than the last one.

Cap: Excellent. The gray parts could have been blue tho.
Spidey: Decent enough. Some changes for changes sake here, but I understand the basics of it, since they don't wanna be the Raimi-movies.
And if you look down on his wrists, you can see two shiny pieces. Those have been confirmed to be web-shooters. So no, they won't be organic.
Alas, there's been a few other pics of the spidey-costume, which aren't quite as flattering, so I think Cap has got him beat there.

I must be reversed. I like the Cap. Looks nice and WWII-y. Spidey I don't think they should have messed with.

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

Cap - Never been a fan of the character, but actually like the costume a lot. It's a nicely balanced blend of his costume merged with military gear.
Spidey - Not for me. My attitude is 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. I was disappointed by the reboot decision, and the costume feels like change for changes sake - we get to the see same story from Spidey 1, told in a *slightly* different way. Woopee-do.

Ahem. AHEM. I assume you posted this BEFORE you learned that the movie is called "AMAZING Spider Man" and not just "Spider Man", correct? Clearly the consequential natures of these changes are now plain to see.Mr_Tigg wrote: Spidey - Not for me. My attitude is 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. It's already been pointed out in this thread, but I have to say it again: I really, really appreciate that the webshooters are there, and hope Peter gets to be a bit more brainy and a little less dopey Toby. But I certainly don't have what I would call HIGH hopes for the film, and I have even less high hopes about the box office.

I was completely behind the plan for two more Raimi/Maguire movies and it's a shame that didn't work out. A reboot so soon doesn't seem the greatest idea. But my interest perked up with the casting of Andrew Garfield, who is very good.
And Spidey needs to start with the wisecracks. That's been missing from the movies and is one of the many things that makes him, well, Spidey.Shanti418 wrote: I really, really appreciate that the webshooters are there, and hope Peter gets to be a bit more brainy and a little less dopey Toby.
Bah Humbug! That's what I say! They should change the name to "AMAZINGLY BAD Spider-man". Changing the name of the franchise slightly, along with the entire set up isn't going to convince me I'm afraid. I loved Sam Raimi at the helm (except Spider-man 3, which was ok in places, but clearly the victim of studio interference).Shanti418 wrote:Ahem. AHEM. I will judge the film on it's own merits when it's finally released, but atm not impressed really. The only way that could make me feel excited is if they promised to do Venom properly rather than tagging him on at the end!
