To teach. Or something of the ilk.
Good idea?
Will my sassy accent get me ‘the ladies’?

But only if you keep it up the whole time. If you drop back into your native accent, they'll wonder why you put on the sassy accent in the first place, and assume you've got something to hide.Shanti418 wrote:Probably.JawBreaker wrote:Will my sassy accent get me ‘the ladies’?

When they start asking what you're hiding... Just give 'em the cheeky smile and do your best Pierce Brosnan impersonation.Rebis wrote:But only if you keep it up the whole time. Seattle is best. You're closer to Canada when the crazy conservatives take over.Best First wrote:depends if you have any sassy chat to go with it.
and where you are plannig on heading i guess? America is a pretty fat target.
I'd def recommend to anyone spending time in San Fran or San Diego. Or Chicago. Or New York. Or Vegas... but only a weekend at a time on that one.

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

Riddle me this chums;
Should I be terrified by the current American healthcare system ?
Goes the American education system differ hugely from the United Kingdoms ?
Though not all that important, how does the average teachers wage stack in comparison to the ‘average Americans‘?
…maybe I should have provided some sort of context…
But that risks me going all purple prose on your faces!

Healthcare: It's almost laughably expensive and, should you make use of it, not only will your premiums go up, but the insurance company will do everything it can to deny your claim. Choosing to go without health insurance is possible, but paying out-of-pocket for care can be astronomically expensive.JawBreaker wrote:Riddle me this chums;

Education: Varies greatly from one state and city to the next. The schools (K-12) in the US were crap, offering out-dated textbooks, plenty of shoddy teachers, and very little in the way of extra-curricular activities. Zero-tolerance policies mean that students can be suspended, expelled, and even arrested for seemingly minor transgressions. I was threatened with suspension and/or expulsion for defending myself from a sexual assault. But, like I said, different everywhere.
Teachers wages tend to be pretty meager at first, but after time, they can go up substantially. Quite a few of the teachers at my old high school were making 110k per year, but that's after working for 20 years. Summers off (10 weeks, I believe) is a VERY nice perk for teachers.

Nah! What about Texas? You can actually plan your schedule AROUND when the crazy conservatives take over. Then you're closer to Mexico, which not only has drugs like Canada, but also hot weather and tacos.bumblemusprime wrote:Seattle is best. Seattle women are hot. You just have to get their sweaters off.
Ditto on health care, education and teacher pay. Honestly, unless someone offered you a luscious golden job in Merka, I would say you should go teach in some country that is hungry for English teachers. That was my plan, but the kids have made it harder to leave. I am hoping to find a way to become a Canadian one of these days...

My area of interest in sociology is sexuality, and judging by how my lit reviews go, there's a good chance my best future job opportunities will be in the UK. I'm already trying to mentally prepare my wife for the lack of sunshine and dryness.
