Inexplicably and ashamedly, I will probably buy this.

Just because.

There are plenty of IDW TF issues I haven't bought, but this'll be the first I won't even glance through. I'm fine with them giving Drift and McCarthy each other - just keep it out of the way of everything else.

IDW do rather seem to have trouble fully getting over their missteps, don't they?

IDW: "Because you all asked for it - Drift Mini Series!" Nothing to do with the Hasbro toy. Honest.

The silver lining is, IDW seems to have picked up Drift again very shortly after the announcment at Toyfair that the toy will be released in Generations. Going by the same logic :ididit: can we start hoping for a Straxus, erm... Darkmount Spotlight? 8)

Drift update! Oh Douriftu-Chan, why can't I quit you?

Looks like him and Death's He- sorry legal department, Lockdown will end up as a rag-tag tag-team - forced against to work together as a team against their better instincts. I do hope they'll build up a grudging working respect for each other, if not each others methods. Then finally, it's revealed they're brothers! And Star Wars Crossovers Boba Fett is their dad! Drift, how could you BE more awesome?

Here's how! Drift's got The Touch - DRIIIIIFT HAAAAAS THE POWERRRRRRRRR! HOOOOOOOOOOOO!
It makes his double nipplenuts extra tight and glowy. No-one else has glowy nipplenuts like he.
Looking ever more like what I predicted will come to pass. Sadly.

We talked a bit about the new DRIFT mini and what it's about. Despite the fact that it's set in the past, a very cool seed is getting planted in that series that is going to become important to TF ongoing a little later.
His Matrixsword brings all the Chanbots to the yard.
Damn right it's better than yours.
He could teach you, but he'd have to take another maxi-series and an original graphic novel. And an ongoing.

Even Milne sounds a bit apprehensive on his art page.
been working hard on finishing that series up. i think it's going good, but only time will tell.
Man, IDDub, why you make me see the bad side in you? Why you make me hit you, daddy? You know I loves you.

After the last three issues of the ongoing, Drift might actually be a step up in quality.

Which may be the scariest idea to be conceived in a looooong time.

It was claimed that Shane had AHM mapped out before, but IDW wanted to make it a 12-issue run, so it was decompressed. It will be interesting to see what he can do with a four-issue mini for which he has had all the time in the world to work with. There are no real excuses here. A fresh character. A fresh story. No excuses.
