Su and Furman. Bring em back, put em on the ongoing.

Good news for ye, BF.

Who's writing S:P?
Please say it's not Costa or McCarthy.

Seconded, but I REALLY miss Senior.
EJ may well be the finest "modern" TF artist. I don't dispute that in the slightest, but those heavily-inked, blocky TFs throwing each other around...put it this way, today I read the T2006 smackdown between Mags and Galvy followed by the Legacy of Unicron issue where Shockers buys it - even before I saw this thread.

I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Senior was awesome.
His Magnus/Galvy stuff and the whole Thunderwing Matrix Quest stuff was a thing of beauty. It did seem at times though that he got a little too two-dimensional. Like I think his Unicron Saga work was too blocky.
Still going to go with Don as my fav simply because his fight scenes are the greatest.
If I had to give a prize though for Best Overall TF Artistic Performance, it would definitely go to William Johnson/Kyle Baker in Warrior School and Repeat Performance. For me, that hasn't been surpassed.

Don't get me wrong, EJ is an amazing artist.
But the above image of Galvy, damm it's just got so much power, so much emotion. Sometimes I wonder if I'm mad or somthing, is it just nostalgia or somthing else...
The artwork above and by many of the G1 artist just worked on a different level, it wasn't correct, it lacked the precsion we have today but it oozed meaning.
I was reading sibertron the other day, some fans commented on a G1 style cover of prime, the new one I'm sure u have all seen, they said it was **** because prime couldn't transform if he looked like that... They are right but they miss the point no?
I was Reading the transfans tagline on the front page the other day, 'they were the dream'... Now look at target 2006, and rolling thunder, all the parts on cybertron to be specific.
It's fantasy, it's sci-fi, look at the highlights on the armour, the wastelands, the expressions on xarron, the decepticon who confronts cyclonus, impactor...
It's fantasy, I don't care about accuracy, if it's real or not, I want style!
EJ is stupidly talented, that much is obvious, I would just love to see him be free, more fantastical...
Damm nostagia!

There's something else that page makes me miss. Narration in comic panels. Maybe I'm old fashioned.Best First wrote:

The SFGS dream team at their best.
But kudos to Furman too. I often learnt new words from his scripts. I guarantee modern kids comics don't use words like "conflagration"! Distant Thunder made me look up what a "charnel house" was. I've yet to thank him for widening my vocabulary.

That grandiose and way too verbose style was a real hallmark of the 80s. I'm always amazed when I see a Claremont issue that has a whole novel cluttering up the word balloons. Also amazed the way things have shifted now, unless you're Bendis and you have thirty ums, uhs and likes per page.

BF, feast your eyes on this incredible work by E.J.:
http://tformers.com/ig.php?mode=view&al ... 00&start=0
Has to be some of the best TF work I've seen from IDW. I said it before, if E.J. had a good colorist to complement his style, he would be lauded ten times over.
Here's me laudin.

I heart you, EJ. I don't care how creepy it sounds, I'm just going to say it.
