I've recently started working my way through the comics reviews on this terrific site.
I am 29 so I am a big fan of the original G1 Marvel comics. I used to get quite frustrated as a kid about how some of my favourite characters would just "go missing", and how after the early issues of the comic you hardly got any of the origial G1 characters together in a story.
Many characters would just go missing for no apparent reason.
For example, I know Omega Supreme infamously went missing in Target 2006 - but where was he in Time Wars? Why does nobody mention that? Where were all the other old school earth Autobots during Time Wars (Prowl, Jazz, Ironhide..)? Thanks to this site I also understand that the only continuity for for the Earthforce stories is post-Unicron.
Generally, has anybody written out a sort of continuity of the G1 comics? It would make it a lot easier to remember the "two Megatrons" and "two Galvatrons" stuff for example.
(How did Simon Furman expect 8 and 9 year olds to get their head round all this stuff???)
Cheers, and if the guys who run this site are reading, keep up the great work on this site.
John D.

welcome John.
I actually think kids would be better off - it's us wierdo's who are obsessing over it 20 years on that it's bothersome for
In Omega's case i am pretty sure he has it in his conract that he gets aholiday every time there is an event story. To be fair this probably stercahes the events out a bit and ensure's all of them don't end on page 2 with Mr Supreme melting Galvy's head off with his super duper laser beam. Or Galvy killing Omega with his super duper laser and it boneing the US continuity Furmo had to weave in and out of.
Which he of course did artfully for years but then managed to not tie up his own stories between US and UK when he was writing both books.

Well, since Time Wars took place more or less concurrently with the whole Underbase Saga, maybe Omega was already positioned somewhere to ambush Starscream. Or, he was still trying to get over the fact that Buzzsaw, of all Decepticons, blew him off.

By Time Wars present-day Autobots were no longer stranded on Earth. Since the Ark was up and running maybe factions of the Autobots sometimes assisted their Cybertronian allies back on the homeworld, accounting for their absence?
I actually think the Earthforce stories work better near the time of Time Wars and the Underbase saga... it's the only time all the major players were up and running about.

Exactly where they fit in my timeline.spiderfrommars wrote: I actually think the Earthforce stories work better near the time of Time Wars and the Underbase saga... it's the only time all the major players were up and running about.
Or rather, spaced over my timelines D, E and F, depending on certain individuals' presence in the timeline (with the events that contradict each other, like different christmas stories which cannot possibly occur simultaneously, occuring in different timelines based on which characters are there).
Oh so very nice.spiderfrommars wrote:Dunno, but it was nice not being talked down to wasn't it?John_D wrote: (How did Simon Furman expect 8 and 9 year olds to get their head round all this stuff???)
