If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

My sister got tickets to see the free twenty minute trailer this Friday in theatre. I don't really want to go, though. Don't want to be spoiled.
But for those interested in getting a taste, it's free.

I was on the 3D screening today. (Cameron appeared btw onscreen, telling us it's not really a spoiler as these scenes are only from the first half of the movie).
And man... it was breathtaking.... THe creatures/enviroment looks awesome, really alien, and very, very lush, full of life... The Na'vi look great too. Worthington gives a great performance (though most of the time he's in his Avatar) just like in Terminator.
Many people argue that this is just a space-Pocahontas, frankly, I don't care. The moral of that story, especially the preservation of the enviroment, has never been more pressing.
December 18 cannot come soon enough... at least we'll have '9' until then. Anyone knows whether Iron Man 2 is in 2009 too?

Not really impressed with what I've seen, to be honest.
For one thing, the creatures, the avatars themselves, are annoyingly ugly. I think their appearance is going to turn people off.
If the 3-D tech that Cameron is touting doesn't live up to the hype, this movie will be his biggest flop.

I don't get the hype, it looks like a video game to me, maybe the story will be better but I haven't seen anything yet I think is that incredible.

I can see why people call it "Dancing With Smurfs." I still want to see it real bad.

Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.
