Why we won't see sparking "Classics" Firecons/Spar

Found this on TF Wiki, hilarious, but true...

"Besides "turning into a realistic handgun," another Generation 1 gimmick we won't be seeing again in the future is the "sparking" action found in the Firecons, Sparkabots, and Monsterbots, after a Barbie doll with a similar action feature reportedly set a child's underwear on fire."

Seriously.

Guess I'll have to build a cigarette lighter into a Gigan toy to have my new Sparkstalker...

They still make sparking toys though, they get around it by encasing the whole thing in translucent plastic. Which would look really weird sticking out of the back of a car. Unless it was exhaust barrels looking like guns - you'd have sparking guns for Bots and swords for Cons, how much would that rule?
