Good online stores?

Post by stranger » Wed Apr 01, 2009 8:15 am

The demise of the Hasbro Toy Shop, and the inability to buy anything from ebay that doesn't have 40 quids worth of P&P means I'm a little stuck on where to get my universe stuff. Oddly play.com have a good range, but they have no quibbles about bending carded stuff in half to get them into smaller packages!

Can anyone recommend any decent online stores?

I'd recommend you steer clear of them, unless you live in the US. Overseas, BBTS and most of the others charge ridiculous prices for shipping, plus you are guaranteed to get taxed by customs.

I stick to Ebay sellers, there are a lot of reliable ones to get your G1/Universe/whatever from.

Amazon have usually got a broader range of TFs than play. In my experience, they're a lot more forthcoming with the state of orders too.

Yeah, but they got *** prices. They are listing the target exclusive Animated Shockwave/BB and Sunstorm/ratchet for 46$, I got them for 25$ on Ebay with one bid...

So... you just look on the new & used for a lower price.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm now going to appear ungrateful and shoot the ebay one down. Purely because the sheer volume of stuff that comes from Honk Kong, or Singapore isn't something I'm interested in. By the time you've paid the shipping, you might as well shop at BBTS. Plus - the whole waiting for the auction to end, followed by the obligatory snipe...

I found Epic heroes... that looks okay. I was just wondering if there was more sites along these lines? Dedicated webstores where (within reason) I know if I click on "add to basket" I know what I'm paying for and when.

That said I popped into forbidden planet in london yesterday and they have an excellent range at the moment, and probably will do until the movie's come and gone.
