Well, if it's actually good* this time, then you only get to bitch for half of year that's left to its release. If it turns out like the first one, you'll be able to bitch at least for another year, so I guess it's great for you, right?

*I liked the first one so if the second one is similar it's OK by me. If others think differently - fine, but as always, I don't care.

I liked this 1st teaser more than all the teasers and trailers of the first movie combined.

No. But i thought it could have been a lot smarter than it was without being unpopulist.

I feel similar about the 1st movie as i do Phantom Menace - loved it at first and then the cracks started to show.

Of course i own both of them on dvd...

I had pretty low expectations, and it topped them, just by a little bit. I could never picture anything with those horrendous designs as Transformers, so I just accepted that the movie wouldn't be my own vision of the TFs.

Looks like **** will blow. There'll be babes. Optimus sounding proper-like. Fleshies will be squished. 'Tis good enough for me.

I'm hoping they'll do a little bit more characterization of the bots tho. Obviously not expecting Hamlet-like dialogue, but the writers have said they'll put more into the bots his time, so I'm hopin'.

"Horrendous designs" is right. I cringe everytime I see Megatron, in particular is claws-for-hands.

Eh. I watched the first one twice only - have it on DVD but couldn't bring myself to watch it again.

Every time I think "the end fight is nice" my mind nudges me to remember BB pissing on the agents and the masturbation jokes scenes... and somehow I lose my appetite.

I guess it's the same as with the II. SW movie - the first scenes and the last 30 minutes are great, but the rest is boring and unimaginative.

Plus, I don't like the designs... and the fact that the Bots are second-stringers in this flick. Humies get more screentime and lines then they do. I know CGI is expensive, but MAN, they ARE TRANSFORMERS! They could have gotten a lot of screentime in vehicle mode.

Again, like I said, my expectations were low and I just couldn't see them as MY transformers.

For me, the TF movie will always be the Generation 2 arc.

I think I can do without all the sharp edges on all the 'cons. Cant they just use dark purple colors to differentiate the good guys from the bad like the comics did?

Yeah, they are all bug-like. It's like Beast wars all over again. You are predacon? Then you must scan an insect or a reptile as an alt-mode. The more 'icky', the better!

Why are reptiles and bugs still considered evil? Do people still nail bats to the doors and think all snakes are the spawn of the devil? Bah. Reminds me of Redwall, where your race defines by default whether you are good or evil...

the designs are a complete abortion. the reasons TF worked orignally was because in their robot mode u could still recorgnaise parts of their alt modes. this is why the original designs worked so well for more tan just fans and the general public. it's another reason why later generation TFs such as kup, blur, galvatron etc... moved public perception away and towards the hardcore fan.

if u can't tell a TF alt mode from his robot form it fails on many levels.

put simply, just by looking at G1 sunstreeker I can see it's a Lambo, I can pratically guess what this TFs character is going to be before I learn any more about it.

fast forward to the modern movie, the new designs are utterly meanignless beyond the cons being a bit spiky , is evil, but they all lack character as they lack definition through design.
they lack the traits that made TF work as a basic character design concept.
