What comic movie are you most looking forward to?

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

What comic movie are you most looking forward to?

There are a lot of good ones that appear to be in the works? Which one can't you wait for?

As I'm making this list... I'm realizing just how many there are to look forward to. I'm most looking forward to Man Of Steel, I think. The last installment wasn't as bad as people made it out to be, but I think there's a lot of room for improvement. After seeing what they did with the Dark Knight, I have a good feeling about the next Superman.

I'm least looking forward to Justice League. This looks terrible. Plus, we cannot have 2 batmans? batmen? at the same time. I wish they weren't making it.

Watchmen by far, but I'm hoping they can make a good job of Spidey 4.

I'm looking forward to Watchman, but I'm looking forward to Avengers MORE because the way the characters are being constructed for it is unprecedented, so that's pretty exciting.

Despite Zac Snyder changing the ending to the movie Im still just as excited.

Avengers does have the potential to be amazing, but I think that it will be just a big action flick based on comic book characters rather than the actual story behind The Avengers.

See, Marvel has proven to me in Iron Man, Hulk and EVEN the new Punisher Movie that they do their properties right, and that it WILL be the actual story behind the Avengers, because otherwise what are they going to do?

I mean, if whoever had the rights to X-Men can not turn them into a big action flick based on comic characters, I'm sure Marvel can do at least the same with their own stuff.

On the other hand, Zac Snyder's resume (Dawn of the Dead, 300) does NOT prove to me that Snyder is capable of producing subtely, mutli-layered narratives, or anything other than heavy handed symbolism. The trailers are pretty, but Watchmen is not a story where as long as everyone looks right and says their lines, the story's true weight is clear.

just so you guys know this will be the last time you see PMOP for a very long time because his cushy college life is over so now he's a gardener for a family of medium wealth. he was unable to procure employment in his field. it has caused a minor uprising in the area because he is not a union gardener but this family is staunchly anti-union due to poor experiences with the plumber's union.

be on the lookout for optimus prime shaped hedges in the future

"And there came a day... a day unlike any other, when Earth's Mightiest Heroes found themselves united against a common threat!

On that day... The AVENGERS were born, to fight the foes no single superhero could withstand!" :)

Now let the call cry out! From New York and San Francisco's canyons of glass and steel, to the depths of the ocean, out pass the moon and space itself, beyond even the fabled Rainbow Bridge, into the realm of the gods themselves!!

AVENGEEEERS AAAASSEEEEEMMMBLLLLLLLE!!!!! :D

I'd say it's fairly obvious which movie, as a life-long Marvel-fan, I'm looking the most forward to... ^^

Yes. The proper way to do Punisher is to make it suck like a history eraser button.

Well yeah. I mean, the new Punisher wasn't a good movie, but it defintely was Marvel's Punisher on the big screen. It's like Hulk and Iron Man : Hulk was just as good a Hulk movie as Iron Man was an Iron Man movie, it's just that millionaire playboy learns a morality tale with fighting robots sells more tickets than green Jekyll/Hyde on the run which sells more tickets than one dimensional vigilante shooting guns.

What's the new Superman movie about? I hope it retcons the Return, because that movie sucked... Why, of all the continuities they chose the old Superman Movies as a basis, I'll never know. The comics, or Superman TAS were always much better. I mean, the penultimate point of Return was when we find out he has a kid... Really. And Luthor was a joke (no matter how greatly played by Kevin Spacey) - I prefer scheming industrialist Luthor or even crazy scientist Luthor to the petty criminal Luthor portrayed here.

Watchman is most likely going to be the ONLY comic-book movie that stays 100% true to the source material. Well, maybe 300 was too. I'm really anxious to see it.

Spiderman 4... what, he's gonna fight Kraven now? Or Lizard? They successfully killed off all the main Spidey villains now.

I don't like Wolverine much, but the new movies seems more interesting - based on trailers -then all the previous 3 films put together, so I'm eagerly awaiting it. BTW - if you haven't done so, watch Wolverine and the X-Men. It's great. Sort of like when Grimlock was in command of the Autobots... half the X-Men resign at once. :) Joke aside, the series is pretty good so far, with many interesting plots.

Frankly I never liked the Punisher, except for the crossover where Batman mops the floor with him and tells him he doesn't want to see him in 'his city' again. Ever. :) Batsy does that often. Did it with the Spawn as well...

Curious about GL movie - will it be Hal or John Stewart? (Hope it's not Kyle... and especially not Guy Gardner...)

You're gonna walk out of the theater very disappointed.

As for 100% accuracy, may I suggest the DVD version of Sin City?

There's loads of good villains left, though the Lizard's gotta be a dead cert this time.

Fox is now trying to delay the release of Watchmen.

http://www.superherohype.com/news/watch ... hp?id=7942

I wonder if Fox has any concept of bad publicity? Or of how insane a lot of comic fans are. I certainly hope calmer heads prevail, but I won't be surprised to read about some Fox exec getting beaten or killed by some crazy fan over this.

Hell, the US has people getting shot for talking during a movie.

Maybe WB can use the negative publicity against Fox. Make a few token gestures towards Fox that will obviously be turned down. Make public the most unreasonable demands that Fox makes (I'm sure that someone will ask for half of the gross or the lion's share of DVD sales). The moviegoing public (even non comic fans) will heap ill-will on Fox while supporting WB.

After awhile, a year maybe, a (nearly) finished copy of the movie will "mysteriously" leak to the internet. The copy will be nearly flawless, and display well on giant TVs. With nothing more to gain, Fox will let Watchmen be released with only a token payment from WB. WB will, of course, blame the leak on Fox. And, of course, the public hoopla over the whole thing gets butts into the theater.

As an added bonus, anybody thinking about licensing their work to Fox for an adaptation thinks twice about doing so.

Or maybe the REAL fault of that debacle lies with the completely inept apes in charge of Time/Warner & AOL.

( Dear lord... never have I heard of an internet-provider so heavily criticized as AOL...)

Maybe they should have CHECKED THOROUGHLY that all of their properties weren't licensed out before they started making movies of them?

WB has no-one but themselves to blame, and they deserve whatever trouble they'll get thrown on them.
