Fast Food

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Fast Food

Post by Powermaster Optimus Prime » Mon Nov 10, 2008 12:37 am

Ok, so I have to admit, I'm a bit of a fast food maniac. I eat is often and in enormous quantities. Yes, it is usually due to... HESs (hunger enhancing substances).

As much as I love all these fine dining establishments, I think I have to go with the classic McDonalds. Wendy's certainly gives it a run for its money though.

Also, next weekend I plan on visiting BK and constructing my own "Octo-Stacker." That's 8 beef patties, 8 slices of cheese, and 16 strips of bacon. If I survive, I'll be sure to recount the experience on Transfans.

Mickey D's.

I grew up on it and Long John Silvers, so it's probably for nostalgic reasons too.

But during my college years, I was hardcore Taco Bell.

These days, I try to avoid it, but sometimes cave in.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

If for food, WEN. If for advertising (as noted above), BK.

I prefer BK, but Wendy's and McD's are much more numerous than BK here, and my girlfriend HATES BK, so I'm usually stuck with Wendy's.

I also like some local options not on the poll, like Taco Cabana and Whataburger.

I try to avoid it, but I can't resist the Carl's Jr. (Hardee's) Six Dollar Burger, especially since they make it without the bun for my wheat-allergic self. The pepper-jack guacamole one is fantastic. Plus, they're the only fast-food place that really gets the triple threat right (good burgers, good fries, good shakes). I'm so glad there aren't any in Washington or my arteries would look like the I-5 at the afternoon rush hour before a three-day weekend.

See, I've never had or seen in person a Carl's Jr or an In and Out.

Not a huge fan of fast-food. And I have to admit, some of these I have never heard of! :eyebrow:

Out of the ones I do know, I'd say Burger King which I tried only a few months ago, is the one I thought had the best grub.

Other then that, I think I prefer the local chain, Frasse's. :o

Would be cool to try White Castle one day tho, just for the historical value, the first Hamburger-joint in the world. :)

Kebab and falafel. Heeyo!!
You can get a big ass falafel where I live for £1.20. Mmmmm!

Eating a kebab before you go home after a night out can really save the next day.
Can't believe I'm still here.

You wouldn't catch me dead in McD's.

But then if I was a real man of principle I'd avoid the others too.

We don't get Taco Bell in UK. :( Kinda took the punch out of the gag in Demolition Man.

spiderfommars and Grimace had a "summer fling" a couple of years ago. It all got a bit crazy. The whole situation is quite... awkward.

Where the hell are YOU that you have access to In&Out AND Whataburger? I didn't know they crossed regional markets. Where you live must be the land of milk and honey, and/or a place with lots of hamburger joints.

Yeah In&Out is so localized I left it off the list.

They have a Whataburger here in Bellingham, but most of the hippie free-range local beef places are better.

The closest In-N-Out to you, Shanti, is Phoenix, AZ. Though I never liked their fries, growing up with them close by and all.
