Shane McCarthy TV interview reveals next IDW series

Post by Metal Vendetta » Wed Jan 16, 2008 4:07 pm

A poster over at theyareamongus has reported that in an interview for the Australian TV programme Today Tonight, IDW writer Shane McCarthy revealed the title of the series he is working on.

SPOILERS FOLLOW
*****************************

Featuring the same "Swear Allegiance" tagline and red Decepticon logo as the teaser in UK Dinobots #5, and as posted by Chris Ryall on the IDW boards, this series will apparently be called "All Hail Megatron" and revolves around the Decepticons causing havoc on Earth - without the Autobots there to stop them.

Whether this is a direct follow-up to Devastation remains to be seen, but many fans have predicted that the current arc will finish with Prime pulling the Autobots out of the conflict on Earth.

I know I did. :o

Nice one Emvers.

[EDIT]
Not sure what I think about it tbh. Interested to see how/if they're gonna make a series work with the only robots being the antagonists. Human resistance? Joy of joyz0rs.

Prime should know that pulling out never works.

I was going to write "with Prime pulling the Autobots off Earth" but that sounds even worse...

At least it's somebody who's written comics before.

You can't be serious about Prime pulling out of Earth. That would be a clear invitation to decepticon conquest of the universe and Cybertron. Earth is a rich source of energon unless they found a better one. :p HMMMMM! I wonder....

Hmm, McCarthy's CV doesn't look too bad. (Detective Comics, eey?)

And I've heard that British Anthology Event Horizon has been hailed by critics alike as all quality, straight trough to the core of it. :)

Maybe I should try and find out wich story(s) he did in those, and post some preview or such, here? We should be able to give him a fair judgement on that.

EDIT: Ok, he wrote something aptly named 'The Cure' in Event Horizon1 and a "future Science" -story called 'Ride Red Ride' in Event Horizon2.

I found some previews:

Hints:

1) Yes, it's 'in continuity'.
2) No, it's not a 'world without Autobots' (that was a misquote from a television interview I did)
3) F-15s? Hell yes.
