I posted something like this when the movie came out... but I think it'd be fun, again, to do a kind of Transformers-themed holiday drive. Donate toys to a children's shelter or toy drive, copies of Infiltration to a book drive or a library, etc, and spread the love. I know in the US Barnes & Noble is doing a holiday drive so all one would have to do is ring up a copy of the graphic novel for their charity.
Ideas? What d'yall think? Maybe we could spread the love onto some of the other sites where we hang out and/or mod, like the Archive or IDW.

okay, so the second question: do we want to do this as an organized event or do we want to be autonomous?
Obviously, different pros and cons for both. Me, I'm so forgetful that I would like someone to make sure I do this.
Here is one idea for organization. You sign up in this thread and you are paired with a reminder buddy. You PM your buddy with a description of what you will do. This buddy similar shares what they will do, and you PM each other when it's done. That way we'll be helping each other. Then when it's done, report it in this thread and tell us what you did if you so desire. You can also use this thread to say things like, "hey, anonymous reminder buddy, I haven't heard back from you... a can of whup-ass must be opened!"
Or we can consider a signup in this thread enough promise to come back and say, "hey, I did it." Whatever works best for people. I don't like bragging about my charitable activities, but I don't like forgetting to do them either.

There's like four Transformers fans in Sweden, so giving a TF TPB to a library seems useless.Predabot wrote:I'd be willing to team up with you oB... Wanna' co-buy a TF Stormbringer HC/TPB and give to a local library or refugee-reception center?
And I don't think war refugees wanna read about big american robots wrecking havoc and chaos
It's the thought that counts though!
But I'll probably keep it simple and donate some money to a charity (even if it is quite a boring way of helping out ).

Oh well, mate. The war-refugee thing wasn't entirely full-proof, but I'm still thinking it's good to give the brand some exposure with the young 'uns in some way.Obfleur wrote:There's like four Transformers fans in Sweden, so giving a TF TPB to a library seems useless.Predabot wrote:I'd be willing to team up with you oB... Dunno' if I'll give to charity in the regular boring way... last two years I've been giving a 150-200 swedish quids to the cancer-rehabilitation fund, but I'm absolutely flat broke since I came back from vacation yesterday.
