Battlestar Galactica: Razor [spoilers, probably]

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

That was ace. Go download it now. Or, y'know, wait for the DVD. R2's out on Boxing Day, I think.

It's well brilliant. Mostly set towards the end of season 2 (after Lee being given Pegasus, but before they go back to Caprica to get Sam et al), but with flashbacks giving us the full backstory for BSP (including most of what the XO told Tigh had happened).

I am in love with Shaw. She awesome.

Not only is it wicked cool and brilliant in its own right, but it gives a new twist to lots of other stuff.

Plus it's got the "classic" style Raiders and Centurions in it.

GO. NOW. GET.

It's nice to have something to tide me over until about April. Gah. But if anything it's just got me more psyched and impatient.

DAMN YOU SCI FI CHANNEL NEED SEASON 4 NOW!!!!!!

Downloaded it, will watch it in the next couple of days probably. Is it good? Can you tell me the premise without giving it away? (Didn't read the post above)

I see Season 4 may be delayed even further with all the strike action.

It's very good.

It basically chronicles the first mission of the Pegasus under Lee's command. So it's set towards the back-end of season 2, with flashbacks fleshing out the story of the ship between the start of the war and their joining the rest of the fleet.

Basic gist is: They're sent on a search/rescue mission to find a civilian science team that have gone missing. And stumble onto something else.

You've seen all of season 3, right?

Yep. So its set in the gap before he got fat?

Sounds good. I thought it was gonna be a prequel (before the miniseries) with a whole raft of new characters.

Is it essential? Shall I get the DVD when it's out?

Yes, he is slimline! It's after he gets given the keys to his own Battlestar, but before Kara goes back to Caprica to get Sam.

There's a few new characters (mostly Pegasus crew), one of which is the central one (flashbacks are mostly through her eyes).

I wouldn't say it's essential, but it helps flesh out a lot of things, gives certain things a new context, and there's some seeds sewn in there that could pay off big-style in season 4.

The DVD's going to be an extended cut of the episode. The tv version is pretty tight, so I'm slightly worried that more material thrown in might blur the focus a bit, though.

For some reason I thought it was gonna have a young Adama, Tigh etc. I was obviously thinking of Star Trek.

It does feature a young Adama, as he gets some flashbacks of his own. :)

Acquiring...though I've still not got to the end of season three, as I really lost interest about halfway through. I've been promised it gets better towards the end, but where I'm at it just seems like they're treading water...
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Yeah, "supposedly" the network asked for more standalone episodes, and as such it lost a bit of the momentum. Gets it back ******* big style towards the end, though.

Watched this tonight. Incredible and a sterling reminder as to why BSG is the best show on TV.

Really good. Was a bit slow to start with (had to get back into that late season 2 mindset) but it was cool to get some Pegasus backstory.

Reminded me how much I wanted to kick Cain in the head last time. She was clearly mad as a hatter from the word go.

Y'know, I was sad that there were no old style Centurions in the Adama flashback, so was blown away when they turned up later. Spot on casting for young Adama too.

So - guy in the tub at the end.... explanation?

First Hybrid, innit?

Complete with wacky inside knowledge. Probably connected to the wacky dreams of Roslin, Sharon or Caprica Six... Leoben knowing stuff, Deanna's near life experiences... and whatever the hell the "thing" is that appears to Baltar as Six and was in Kara's dream flashback pretending to be Leoben (yes, I'm going out on a limb and saying they're both the same thing).

I seriously hope there's a workable answer for all the metaphysical stuff. Season 4 could end up just blowing it big time.
Grrr. Argh.

He was talking like he was the Cylon God. Confused me a bit.

Didn't like Shaw to be honest. By the way, was she glimpsed in season 2 or has she come out of nowhere?

Looking forward to the extended cut.

I think she was brand new. I lurve her. Though I think it's just the eyes. Big brown eyes like that just make me melt.

The Hybrid likely thought himself God... all things considered. Enough people/robots/whatever treat you a certain way.

If I commit enough war crimes will you start to look at me in that special way? ;)
