This website had a pumpkin with a burning candle in it.

The candle has been burning lower and lower everyday - and today the website turned in to what it is right now.
American transfans, it's time for you to go hunting!

Two things:
1) Last time the Joker was in film, they had Prince playing him as some ****** up funk meister in music videos and Jack Nicholson playing him as some charminly sleazy, anything goes, nasty, hillariously blasé inasne [composite word including 'f*ck'] in the film... That **** is going to be hard to top. ******* hard.
2) on the subject of inernet viral marketing, who finds it really ******* hard to not get pissed with it? I spent an afternoon trying to work out what the [composite word including 'f*ck'] going on in the Cloverfield film via all the trailers and littke snippets on tenuously linked websites.
I think at the end of the day, it'll all be a bit of a let down, especially since they all tend to rely on frankly stupid, highly dubious links between annoying ******* dicks and tiny plot points.
I think it would be miuch better if they cut out the cryptic ***** and actually used the viral campaign to paint a detailed but CLEAR backstory.

In other reality bending DC viral marketing news.....

I used to try and follow the Lost viral marketing (or the webmaze as they call it) but tbh this year it's got so ridiculously complicated and tenuous that I can't make head nor tail of it. The stuff they did with Rachel Blake between seasons 2 and 3 was great, but this time around it's just a jumble of weird-ass stuff on one myspace page after another. If there's a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow, then it's gonna take a much better man than me to find it, because frankly I dn't have the time, the energy or the inclination any more...snarl wrote:2) on the subject of inernet viral marketing, who finds it really ******* hard to not get pissed with it? Agreed.
Especially since I have seen the first Batman movie after pretty much growing up seeing Mark Hamill's Joker on Batman TAS, I found Nicholson's Joker quite... dissappointing. Not to mention the whole idea that he killed Brucie's parents...
The only thing worrying me about Ledger is the fact that he self-confessedly doesn't like Uncle J.

Now they're handing out free cakes and free phones.

The note says:
“Wow, you really took the cake! Now, put the icing on it: call (phone number) immediately from this phone and THIS PHONE ONLY. Do NOT give this phone number to anyone else.
Let’s hope your fellow goons come through as well as you. Once all the layers are in place, you’ll all get your just desserts. I’m a man of my word“
