IDW Dead / ****** list

Post by snarl » Mon Oct 29, 2007 6:13 pm

Whilst rereading the IDW run t'other day, it dawned on me that we have heard [composite word including 'f*ck'] all about the situations of certain TFs, notably the Nebulos infiltration unit that got smacked by Thunderwing.

Are we to assume they're dead?

I recall reading people speculating over who was the first official TF to bite it in this run, saying was it Outback or was it the G" guy given the death touch thing by Galvy.

Off the top of my head, we had Ruckus, Crankcase... Roadgrabber...? and maybe Skullcruncher get twatted on Nebulos.

Then the Wreckers kind of took the piss out of the Con Pretenders... That Springer grenade appeared to have killed a few of them.

One of the remaining Con pretenders got butchered by Bludgeon. AFAIC, he deffo, clearcut dead, whoever it was.

Then we've got half of Outback in Spotlight cup (looked pretty dead to me) The yellow racing car in Spotlight Galvy.

I'm classing Ironhide as missing

Can anybody think of any others?

Chronologically, I'd say all the crew of Ark 1 were the first to die. That we know of.

Yeah... heavy inference that only Darkwing, Dreadwind and Thrust got out alive.

Iguanus.
The yellow racing car in Spotlight Galvy.
Leadfoot.

The redshirts in Spotlight Hot Rod?

Loads in Megatron Origin, but that's rubbish so I vote we officially pretend it doesn't exist.

Oh, the gallons of disposables killed by Kup, too.

A lot of the characters could only be offline (Pretenders, Nebulos team)... I think it's implicit that the Dinobots and Shockwave survived that blast. Starscream and Skywarp both survived being blown to **** (though CR tanks blatantly helped)... so there's no reason that all the characters we've seen take a killer hit are dead.
Grrr. Argh.

Since poor Killer Croc cannot fly... :( Yeah, pretty likely he bought it too.
Though, did you ever consider their true fate may be more worse then death? They got deactivated, sure, then left on a planet that discovered the existance of Transformers the hard way (TW laying waste to them) - One would imagine they'd study the corpses left behind, even maybe try to reanimate them as controlled drones. And maybe Zarak's organization will play a role in this too. Remember, Skullcruncher is destinied to be a Headmaster...

Iguanus.
I sincerly doubt he's dead. Losing an arm and a leg is hardly fatal to a transformer. He just went offline from the pain.

Totally Agreed! If we would, INferno, Grapple and Motormaster, among others would be totally obliterated.

I Galvy spotlight, Sideswipe says "Babysitting deactivated Decepticons" - plural! So not only Thunderwing was kept there, but I surmise maybe Bludgeon and his crew too.

Says who? The fact that he's been a Headmaster in every other continuity? I don't buy that.

Galvatron's been an upgraded version in every other continuity (well, barring BWII). Sunstreaker's never been a Headmaster before.

I know, it's just that I think it was not by accident that a character that happened to be a headmaster in previous continuities is stationed on Nebulos. I'm certain he won't become one for quite some time, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did, eventually.

Though Simon comes up with new ideas for a lot of characters, others pretty much became what they were before - Bludgeon and THunderwing became pretenders and his crew would have been too, if it wasn't for those meddling Wreckers and that pesky Prime. :p Similarry, an important aspect of Scorponok is his dual nature thanks to being a Headmaster, and he'll become one in IDW too, the change is that this time, it's not Zarak who's his binary partner.

Aye, I've read it four times and still can't decide if the Motormaster looking Decepticon who gets atomised by Sentinel Prime outside the Apex room is supposed to be Motormaster or just a generic that looks a bit like him. It's a different design to what he has earlier in the issue but with that team it's hard to tell...
