that the US comic didn't continue until 2005, therefore allowing Budiansky to finally write in the movie characters?

I guess they didn't make that stupid promise in the UK. But oh man, that damn loophole...

Only thing was the movie continuity was looking a little out of sync by round about 1990. ;)

Yes, timeline A was no longer the primary timeline by 1990... Timeline C had taken grip by that point... ;)

Actually, no. :swirly:
In time C, the primary timeline by the end of the comic run, Straxatron kills himself, allowing the real Megatron to resume his darstadly plans.
It's timeline B where Straxatron is at large... ;)

Ahem.

3 Galvatrons and 1 Megatron make Timeline E the one which evolves into G2.

I thank you.

Well see Galvatron went back in time to kill John Connor and... oh...

Legion's diagram explains where Earthforce falls I think, tbh it all goes a long way over my head but Rebs and Leg know it pretty well :)

That's cos he missed out Cyclonus and Scourge.

And because my diagram is still in the conceptual phase...

They don't cause any real (or noticable) divergence though.
Plus it's hard to place exactly when they were thrown back in time to.
If you assume that they were thown back to shortly before the headmasters miniseries and that Scorponok rose to power after Straxus' "death" (i can't imagine Scorpy and Straxus 'leading' at the same time), one can presume that they were thrown back to just after Galvatron(I) re-arrived in Fallen Angel, meaning that they arrived just after the divergance of Timeline C because they took part in TimeWars (indeed, their non-mass-displacement is the major contributing factor to the timerift, which is why the timerift doesn't close after it's consumed Galvatron, but after it's swept up Cyc and Scourge).
One could argue that their arrival in Timeline C creates a divergence where in one branch, the TimeWars happens as we saw it in the comic, and in the other there is no timerift and no 'time wars', however we have never seen any story set in such a timeline, so it is even more conjectural than the rest of them...

On a different note, don'tcha just love the way that if Unicron hadn't tasked Hook, Line and Sinker to retrieve Rhythms Galvatron, he would have had his only success with Cybertron. ;)
