I note no one could be arsed to comment on these?
i must say i was pretty underwhelmed, the whole thing feels very constrained by the McGuffin premise of the movie, which doesn't stack up that well.
There's nothing actively bad about them IMO but compared to Escalation or the Kup spotlight... this just seems a bit of a non event.

I agree. And those things looks like TOTAL pain in the asses to draw and make distinct from each other. Don's doing a great job as usual, but they're totally pinned in by the source material.

There just isn't a story here. So far, they read like a series of disjoined 'insights' into the various subplots of the movie, essentially there to answer questions like 'how did megatron end up in the ice?' and 'how did Bumblebee loose his voice?'
All rather pointless really.......but I'll read 'em till the end. Mainly 'cos I've already paid Mr Bax for them . Theres a faint hope it might be going somewhere, though, with the arrival of Screamer and co on Mars.

I pretty much felt the same way, though I don't blame Simon or Chris. I think the writers were definitely constrained by the movie here.Best First wrote:I note no one could be arsed to comment on these?

I was expecting more about what went on on Cybertron rather than this sort of intro.
As far as setting up the movie, it did a good job. But it really was only just that: a set up.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

to be honest i think they may have taken the wrong approach - a bit more war on Cybs and adventures within that, possibly with non movie chars would have been more fun.
then again with the designs as they are and the dark colouring they used for Cybertron i couldn't tell what the **** was going on so maybe not.
either way, my overall response is: meh, sadly.

I just got Issue 1 on 'free comic book day'. Like some people are saying, I couldn't tell one robot from each other most of the time (I could only tell who "Arcee" was by the pink speech bubble).
I don't know why you could re-attach Bumblebee's arm with no repercussions but his 'voice box' is lost forever. Maybe they should've just given him a 'Stephen Hawking'-like voice simulator for the movie.
My thoughts exactly. I'm sure their creativity was heavily, heavily constrained for this project.I don't blame Simon or Chris. I think the writers were definitely constrained by the movie here.
