heres something that struck me as odd; i noticed that this community is so absorbed with a series dramatics, characters, and story (or lack there of) that i rarely notice the physical or mechanical aspects being mentioned.
so i decided to share my insight of this perticular series; both in the physical sence; and the comparison of past series. the filmography styling in perticular is something to be said of as well.
lesson one:
does anyone know of what metarials transformers are made of?
it is of little knoledge of the force and stress of the characters; both of basic movement, stance, and damage intake. basicaly one assumes "hes metal but not indestructable". think about it though... if a transformer because of the weight of his shear mass the tension of just running around would cause a structure of that proportion to fracture. so a transformers armor and structual basic would have to not only be dense but also to have extreme shock absorbing properties.
scenario:
a transformer is running at full speed... now think about it transformers are the size of houses so they obiously weigh at least a 40 tons. that shear mass pounding continously against the ground footstep for footstep would be absorbing thier weight in every step.
on the other hand they take bonbardments of missle and photon attacks with minimal damage. logic says that if a 40 tons of mass pound the ground dosen't phase a transformer that a missle or cannon blast would simply scrath their surfaces. point and blank.
case point:
in the cybertron series many transformers have lifethreatening experiences but few from enemy attacks and although battles cause injuries huge overly depicted blasts or poundings barely phase our heroes and villians.
now if you take my lesson into consideration and apply that knoledge to past series you may just see that cybertron series shows many physacaly realistic properties versus its past counterparts. now if you think the battle theatrics are just over the top japanime photographys you can now see that it was not just for show.
and speaking of show:
i beleive that the the story in its essence was very dramatic. but in my opinion it show a more anime style that many people weren't use to. the battles over the top sequences seemed common of animes current look and physics. at the same time were more realistic. the style of this perticular show was very modern and in my opinion based on comparison with many shows of it date it was a top product of what anime can be. beastwars was a staple in what 3d could be. but it can be said that because of its before its time style it wasn't as good as it could've been. i don't mock the show. but when i say cybertron was better than beastwars i bring all aspects of the stylization into play. cybertron is a cartoon but with the 3d principles it makes the transformers bigger than life. the become the center of attention and show an amazing merge of cartoon and cgi capabilities. that and the overblown theatrics give viewers and explosion of satisfaction from a destructive craving of action and suspence. yes cybertron was the best, but from a point of view not so streamline and can only apreciated from an artistic point of view. but many people just like it for what it is.
