Lost season 3, now episode 11.

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Was... was I the only one that thought "OMG, snowballing!" when Jack kissed the girl?

"You taste salty."

I thought that #9 was a big let-down after #7 and #8...do we really need another Jackback? Who cares? The big doofus can't even act, for ****'s sake!

In the past 3 episodes, Sayid has had one measly line, despite being the best thing about that show. I'd kill for an episode of decent Sayid-time right now...
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

What? I think Jack is the best actor in the whole show. Him and the guy who plays Desmond.

Kate is good too as an actress.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

Kate is OK, Desmond is bloody brilliant. Episode #8 was probably the best one I've seen in ages, and most of that was down to Henry Iain Cusick's awesome acting throughout.

But Jack just has a stock angry/confused expression that he uses for every scene. He's so wooden he makes Keanu look like an actor, FFS.

Wow, I couldn't disagree more. I think the guy conveys the full spectrum of emotion rather well. I think he can be seen as "wooden" because his overall demeanor is dominated by a certain seriousness or grimness about him, the kind you would expect from a general surgeon with that kind of responsibility. But when it comes time to show weakness or lability, the guy can produce it without it coming off as forced. When he laughs or smiles or cries, its seems genuine to me.

Now Keanu Reeves. He's the prototype of poor acting. Every emotion he conveys is so obvsiously forced.

Jack is dull and personality free.

He's like "I'm going to be exasperated and intense. Or maybe short tempered. Now I'm going to be put upon."

Boring. :(

Did we really need an entire half episode to learn about his tattoos?

"I was being a bit of a **** in Thailand... wanted a tattoo... went to a place where they didn't let foreigners in. Forced the girl to give me one (oo er missus) - she gave me this."

There. Two lines of dialogue. Slip it in somewhere. Give the episode to somebody who's actually interesting. Jog on Jack.

Hmmm, ten episodes in and we're still lacking flashbacks from some of the major characters. Some deaths on the way perhaps?

For me the flashback novelty wore off about halfway through season 1 tho.

By the way, what was the point of introducing a whole new cast in season 2 only to kill them all off?

... did you just manage to complain about the lack of focus on the main characters at the same time as complaining about the lack of focus on new ones?

If so, that's awesome! :)

... seriously!

So that we could learn about...um...I have no idea. I think the drink-driving convictions had something to do with it, though. Rumour has it that we'll see Libby again in flashbacks, and Cindy is still alive, so maybe she's the key to understanding what happened. That was a nice line when the kids asked how Ana-Lucia was and Jack got all angry/confused, though if I was Jack I'd have been asking a whole lot more questions by now.

Kate flashback is on the way, apparently, as Nathan Fillion has filmed two episodes - only one of which we've seen.

It was great to see Fillion. Any other actor in that episode would have made Kate's flashback another exercise in tedium.

Well we still have to find out why she was in the mental asylum, so I hope so.
Metal Vendetta wrote:That was a nice line when the kids asked how Ana-Lucia was
How come those kids were apparently whisked off to a better life, yet mid-season 2 they were still skulking around the jungle with The Others? (think of the shot when we just see the feet and teddy bear).
Metal Vendetta wrote:if I was Jack I'd have been asking a whole lot more questions by now.
We can't have him ask any sensible questions now can we? The whole plot might get revealed. ;)

May I just point out that I find Lost and 24 the two most addictive TV programmes ever, ever. That doesn't mean I think they're much cop. ;)

Episode 10 was like a sitcom!

"Shut up... redneck...man".

And Sawyer was on fire. He was spreading nicknames like a *************.

But we need to get everyone together again.
First we hade the boring Jack episode. Then we got The Hurley and Sawyer Show.
Bring Jack, Kate and everyone else back so things even out.

And please, more Sayid damnit.
Can't believe I'm still here.

Episode 11 is about the best this series so far...but can I be the first to say "Locke is a dick!" It's not like it's news or anything, he's pretty much been a dick for the whole of the history of the show, but last night really brought it into focus for me - I was just sitting there screaming at the screen "Locke is such a dick!"

I may have to start a website, www.lockedickery.com or something...

True Dat.

I watched bits and pieces of 1 and 2 and all of 3 so far... Locke is resoundingly a grade a ****.

It was just so ******* stupid of him to enter the numbers.
The first thing in his head should've been "Okay, it'll probably activate some kind of security system. And that would not be good".

Sayid was awesome though. Like a Batman or something.

Loved how he totally wanted to kick Lockes ass.

Sayid was fantastic, though the cat appearing at the end doesn't imply good news for him...remember what happened to Eko when he started getting hallucinations from his past life.
