Adventures in Aaron's Room: 'New Year Smell'

Post by Aaron Hong » Sat Feb 17, 2007 5:33 pm

Typing this at 1.30am, on technically the morning of Chinese New Year. Don't have any new artwork this time, but I got a series of toy photo comics dedicated to the season. More may be made later. Dialup users, you are warned.

I feel culturally enlightened!

Any chance we could see some Ninjazords? I always loved that big goofy black frog.

Nice. Education + Web Comicy Goodness = :) :) :)

I have that frog so there's a good chance of that - just not in this story arc though. The only time a frog had a place in Chinese culture is this three-legged toad idol that was probably made up for commercial reasons since there's very little merch for him around nowadays... Back on topic.

Maybe a little - fortunately they've reached that age where can delegate some authority to the twins. I just hope it doesn't turn into a huge mistake...

Now with more Transformers than your usual Lunar New Year comic.

EDIT: The first 'parade' pic (well, most of the parade really) is a reference to this silly little video I found.

We're almost done with this story arc. First off, two outtakes from Pt 8.

This final chapter is just one frame long because the cultural reference is in the frame itself. Some Chinese families take a new family photo with all members present during Lunar New Year.
