Yes... it never TRULY stops, for this show has no shame whatsoever.
It's time to nominate the new lads for the price, and honestly, this year I have no idea who they might be, since I have been frequenting the site far less actively than last year.
So, whom might these new peeps be? Dr Doom perhaps?

There's not that many, really.
Lots of registrations, subtract the spambots, ignore the one-post whiners, cull the alt-ids, deny the deities and the list gets ery short indeed.
For fun, here's the (very) short list:
Aardvark
Autobot 420
In terms of posting power, Aardvark was well-up in the summer, but seems now to have fallen into the ultimate drought.
Autobot 420, on the other hand, posts little and often. Like Xeno's tortoise.
It's been a lean year for TransFans.

Yes, but a good part of them will -probably- stay not too long.I wonder if the new movie will increase visitors?

I'd probably vote for man-with-the-dogs. He did start one of our longest ever threads after all..! http://transfans.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5446

Ha! My comics thread still reigns supreme. Nacho supreme. Burrito supreme. Supreme.
I think it has less to do with our movie opinions and more to do with our lack of TF discussion in general. I mean, there are multiple toylines going on, and almost everyone here has stopped collecting the toys, or never started, or just doesn't post about it in childish glee.
Even in the IDW stuff, it seems that there's definitely less discussion of the issues then we seemed to get for the DW run.

It's not as easy to post voluminous complaints when you're satisfied.Shanti418 wrote:Ha! My comics thread still reigns supreme. Nacho supreme. Burrito supreme. Supreme.

I have a theroy that many of us grew up with TF and are a similar age - the internet allowed us to talk about this childhood passion, untill we had covered every topic available to us.
Maybe we have run out of topics to discuss, and even with new comics and toy lines etc, we are to old to get as invloved? - yes there are new, young fans but they probably dont mix with our age group aswell?
just an idea.

You're saying we've become old fuddy-duddies who just can't get down with the kiddies anymore?Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:I have a theroy that many of us grew up with TF and are a similar age - the internet allowed us to talk about this childhood passion, untill we had covered every topic available to us.

Well, just as long as we don't become or present the impression of having become a clique of first-generation Transformers fans who are deep-set in their decades-old opinions, because that would really make us look unattractive to these later-generation fans who haven't grown up with the Marvel interpretation.

I wonder how the rest of the fandom percives transfans?
Well, from the inception, TransFans.net has been designed to occupy a specific niche, a definite Marvel UK orientation, but hopefully the perception isn't that that's all that's discussed here, and it would be quite depressing if the tongue-in-cheek nature of the presentation was missed or taken at face value and an assumption made that everything else was being poo-pooed here.
I'd hate to think that TransFans was perceived as otherwise inaccessible by the fandom in general.

For the record, I've always thought that the place could easily be regarded as inaccessible to newbies, for the reasons stated.
I've just never mentioned it because I don't mind in the slightest. I like being able to come here and talk to a small core of sensible people (plus Impy and Preds) about stuff. If I want to partake in a hyuge thread (with added idiot exposure), I'll go somewhere else. Tis niiiiice.
Jus' kidding Impy.
