Advance review of Sixshot is readable here:

Beware some minor plot and cast spoilers!
Also, check this baby out:
May be old hat to some, but it rocks hardcore so posting it anyway; apparently this is an image connected to a Kup Spotlight.
Review link and proper context for the image nabbed from Millarworld:

Apols if in wrong forum.

I've not seen that cover before (there's another one knocking around IDW that I've seen) but it's well sweet
TF zombies, with IDW, was always inevitable I think...
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

More of Kup!

Looks great... I wonder about the story... Anyone has seen a solicitation anywhere?

It struck me that Ganner's last stand is part of a series of fictional nods to Horatius' stand on the Tiber bridge.Getaway wrote:That pic looks like a copy of a peice of star wars artwork. If anyone has seen the pic of Ganner Rhysode dying fighting the Vong in Traitor....one of the best written scenes in star wars history that one, i'll try and find the link. Still very nice pic:)
Anytime in fiction a couple of dudes find themselves at a choke point wihh a horde of enemies coming at them and one guy decides to stay behind and hold the bad guys off so his mates can book, it's pretty much referencing that IMHO.
Wasn't Ganner's battle cry even 'None shall pass!"?
The image of a lone warrior still fighting, weapon held high as he's dragged down by the horde is quite common in this context. My favourite is the last stand of Skurge in the Mighty Thor:

Stirring stuff.

"Artist Nick Roche does his Transformers Spotlights, (Shockwave, Hot Rod) one better here, this time tackling full scripting duties along with handling the art chores on a special issue featuring the one and only KUP! In this Spotlight on the grizzled old TRANSFORMER, KUP finds himself stranded, facing shutdown, and fighting evil that just might be all in his mind. Alex Milne joins the cause, too, presenting a special variant cover that shows just what KUP is up against in this Spotlight, seen below in today's ADJ. Enjoy!"

More 2007 stuff...
A general Q&A thread about what's coming next year:
http://forums.idwpublishing.com/cgi-bin ... =21;t=2567
This is roughly what I think's solidified --
http://tfarchive.com/comics/idw/roadmap.php
I haven't added the 2007 movie adaptation itself yet, which may be released on a less-than-monthly schedule to tie in with the film --
http://forums.idwpublishing.com/cgi-bin ... =21;t=2563
Most notable is the Megatron origin mini-series.

Excellent colouring on that Kup Alt-cover. And great to see Milne get to do his own style.
Megatrons origin finally and truthfully revealed, eh? Not sure we ever quite saw a definitive one in the good ol' Marvel-continuity. (Even tho we saw his birth in the cartoon it was dodgy and murky at best.)
Might be seeing that good ol' hunk a pseudo-organic junk named Maximo perhaps?

Umm... Nick Roche WRITING the Kup Spotlight? Now that was unexpected. Did he wrote anything before?Denyer wrote:http://www.idwpublishing.com/news/dujour.shtml

Megatron Mini... man, IDW keeps getting better and better. And Megs will need all the positive attention, seeing how he's degraded in the Bayformers Movie.
I agree that Megs needs an origin story- just how did he start the whole Con organisation, and more importantly, why? I just hope we see none of the humbug (Quintessons, bah!) DW tried to do with Megatron's agenda being to destroy the Quints. (pretty much where it was going with issue 10$ of the ongoing).

Weren't they all either,Legion wrote:Didn't he already exist then tho, that was just his rise to power wasn't it? (been a while since i read it).Ozz wrote:State Games?Predabot wrote:Not sure we ever quite saw a definitive one in the good ol' Marvel-continuity.
a) given life by the Matrix,
or,
b) spawned through an activity involving four other Transformers?
Probably about as much as when Megs hitched a lift with Dead End to their undersea base, shortly before shooting Predaking and blowing up the space bridge.Optimus Prime Rib wrote:I wonder how Menasor feels about that?Predabot wrote: A bot gotten so ol' he's ended up in the Dead End so to speak.

TONS, and I do mean TONS of news from the Q/A from Chis Ryall's IDW board! I'm too tired to comment, but this all looks really, really good.
Chris Ryall is doing a cool q&a with his board. Here's the news coming out of it:
- Guido is busy with Hasbro but should be doing IDW stuff soon
- Don and Simon again on BW
- Maybe Geoff Senior variant cover in '07
- "Magnus comes in January, then Soundwave in March (Marcelo's pages look great), then Kup in April, a Spotlight miniseries starts in May (and runs 4 issues), and then there's one more scheduled for June or July (date still pending, depending on the final movie comic schedule). That one, yes, the character has an "o" in his name."
- There will be another Evolutions title but not called Evolutions
- The creative for that Evolutions title has been considered but not nailed down
- Ben Templesmith will be on TF's soon
- Sales have not leveled off yet
- Galvatron was in the Nightbeat spotlight
-Two other writers on TF's by May.
-No MAJOR facelifts to bots compared to G1
- Hinted at an 'overall leader of the 'cons
- Possible explanation for gestalts in the future
- No Ford Focus Decepticon
- Action Master will show up
- Hardhead will have an Earth alt form
- There will be some suprise appearances in Escalation
- Devastation will take til the end of '07
- Combiners will show up soon
- Probably no for a Wreckers mini
- No sign of Red Alert
- EJ Su will be the artist always on the -ation titles (Infiltration-Devastation)
- Nebulos and Vara Centralus might be seen again but not right away
- Xantium is not a Transformer
- Hinted at a Grimlock vs. Galvatron battle will be seen
- Crossovers are possible but not probable
- No chance of a First Aid spotlight issue
- No fan art in books for now
- Maybe Josh Burcham pencils in the future
- The goo in Stormbringer #4 could be the same as the liquid in the pool in Nightbeat
- Shockwave and the Dynobots will be back in '07
- Beast Wars profile book in '07 around the same time as a new BW comic
- Bludgeon or Banzai-Tron will show up again in '07
- Star Saber won't show up in '07
- Origin of "Super Energon" will eventually be revealed
- Maybe a ChrisCharger back up eventually
- Maybe some IDW TF calendars
- Movie IDW stuff will be in places like Barnes and Noble and others that have never had TF comics before
- UK exclusive stuff is coming
- More season 1 and 2 bots coming but not right away
- Same with the Aerialbots
- "Prime already has depth" so no origin mini series for him
- We will find out what happened to the other planets in regenesis
- Non-earth stories only in spotlights, maybe, not another Stormbringer non-earth series
- Free Comic Book Day 2007 will have TF's
- He asks for convincing when it comes to Beast Machines
-Not continuing War Within
- He'd love to get Alan Moore on the book
- A weekly TF book is coming up
- The Megatron origin mini will be monthly
- Transtech is doubtful
- Generations is changing numbering after 12
- TF Pirates? Respone: ARRRR
- Every character will show up in the long run (COOL!)
- New stories on Cybertron
- Pretenders will show up again
Update:
- No citybot plans
- non-TF: not much coming up with Metal Gear and Silent Hill
- Alluded to Springer, Magnus and Kup not showing up on Earth
- Nothing planned for Action Master/Micromaster vehicles (Blaster's jetpack, Jazz's Skateboard etc)
- Something bigger (in scope, not scale) than a Citybot or Gestalt getting a spotlight in '07
- In response to a quote of my re-typing of his answers: "This is just awesome. However, I do reserve the right to change my mind on any of these answers... "
- Nick Roche is one of the two non-Furman writers by May (I think we already knew that though)
- No plans for a prequel to TFTM
- On no characters getting a facelift: "Megs becoming Galvatron, just for the sake of argument here, is a much bigger change than a facelift, so that example doesn't really apply to the "facelift" conversation. Not that you should read too much into that point of clarification."
- You'll see Headmasters or Targetmasters before Escalation is over
-Make what you will out of: "Here's a question, is there someon higher in the political chain that Prime and Megatron answer to? Like a High Council or something? "
Ryall: "That certainly IS a question, isn't it? And a good one, too. If only my answer was as good. "
"I've come to believe you are working for the enemy, Vervain. There is no other explanation... for your idiocy." (General Woundwort)
