I am still quite happy with my boyfriend's DS. And I have too much other hobbies to spend much time on computer games.

The wii looks pretty interesting though!

Hey, speaking of console wars, it just doesn't seem like a proper Wii thread without Impy's doom n' gloom bashing. Where is he these days? I don't recall seeing him since he got peeved at BF in the current religion thread (Aargh!). Someone should tell him that BF is on vacation, and that Shanti is saying the PS3 isn't good enough to be used as a bedpan. That should get his attention.

Sorry ive been away doing more work then I should ever take on!

I am positive about wii, i think its a great bit of design and deff a break from the norm of PS3 and 360, which IMO, bar a few tech diffrences offer exactly the same kind of experience as every other console ever has.

I came to this conclusion whilst playing Gears of War the other weekend, whilst its all amazing in everything it does, and at the top of its respective tree, I suddenly lost interest in games again, I thought, is it my age? or am I just bored of gaming?

When I play games now I tend to disect them like some review critic, I fail to see them for the joy they once brought me, and i can almost pre-empt anything a game is about do as i pass it through my knowledge base of previous games.

Its almost like playing video-games on a formula or somthing.

wii has me interested and like every other nity console ill be playing it, yet at the same time its like I almost know what to expect - personally for myself, im finding gaming a bit stale in all departments, wii looks exciting from a controll point of view but im not sure if its going to excite me in pure gaming terms, Zelda for instance is still just zelda (ok its GC game so fair do's) and mario looks like a controller upgrade.

In short, yes i am buying a wii, and real relish it, am as excited as i used to be about games?
not really, which is a shame as i have always loved them, it will be interesting to look back a year from now to see how all 3 consoles are shaping up against each other in terms of 'new game experience'

well done to ninty for actually trying to break the mold tho.

My situation is the exact opposite: my store told me that I might not get my Wii this year.
I'm gonna go Wii-hunting on friday though. I've never done any hunting before, so it'll be really exciting

This is so much fun. I have been up for 4 hours playing Wii Sports.

The remote is so intuitive. It felt odd to start with and now it feels natural.

Mii's are a quality little touch. I made Jennifer Lopez in the style of her in South Park and sent her to all of my Wii friends. Infliction

I just wish Nintendo released the component cables. The picture quality is gash on my HDTV.

Interesting tho, I was so inept about the HD-tech that I did not know that SCART-cables were insufficient for HDTV's. Huh.
