If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I've spent the last 4 hours searching for an answer and I've failed! FAILED! My girlfriend bought a shiny new 2nd Generation iPod. Which means that she finally had an excuse to download iTunes. The problem is that I can not get iTunes 7 point whatever to install. I get the "opening windows installer" box, then nothing. I get the same thing when I try to install the newest version of quicktime. I just want to get her songs onto the iPod. Anybody have any suggestions?

She's running Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4.

Hmm, should work ok on that OS... it's not something random like the firewall blocking it is it? Try disabling the firewall and running the installer again.
