New Bond song!

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

By Chris Cornell! For Casino Royale…

They finally realised for the first time in ages...

1) They don't have to get some old diva to sing it
2) It doesn't have to be the name of the film

cant say it does much for me tho to be honest, it lacks a certain flair that other bond themes have had.

But then, i think Goldeneye was the last 'great' bond theme.

As far as songs go, its wickedly awesome.

As far as Bond songs go, its kinda meh.

On a side note, I wonder if this Casino Royale is gonna pay any tribute to the original one that spoofed the whole James Bond theme....

upon hearing it again, its even worse, its utter genirc rock rubbish. theres some basic guitar twanging and some guy muttering about somthing I can barely understand and i have a feeling it has nothing to do with James Bond or the film in some slight way.

It lacks glamour, glitz, power, decent vocals and good instrumentals.

Its sub-standard, and if it wasnt attached to the Bond name in some way I doubt it would be popular at all.

Its utterly ****.

Its actually quite amazing, Chris Cornell has one of the most powerful rock voices around.

IMO Chris Cornell sounds like a old diva... a really really really old diva, like dinosaur old, on cocaine.

The movie'll probably be equally ******.
Can't believe I'm still here.

I like it. I think whas causing everyone to have to let it grow are its subtleties:
Doesnt come out and say 'James Bond blah blah blah" "You know my name"= I R BADAZZ

Also the music is pretty well orchestrated and IMO an ingenius variation on the original Bond Theme. Its there, but mixed in.

I too love Cornell, Soundgarden=love

I love when anthems and themes for movies are rewritten and used as variations. Personal favorite was 'Imperial March/Anakins Theme' from Star Wars. Anakins theme was literally Imperial March backwards.Simple change but Brilliant.
