If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

In the morning, I'm getting on a jet and flying to my new home in Fukuoka, Japan. I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back online, it probably won't be too long.

Congratulations man, and good luck. I look forward to hearing your first impressions.

Because it's been too damned long...

All my TFs are packed, I'm ready to go
Gon' buy twice as many in Tokyo
Logged on to TransFans just to say goodbye

Hardly anyone here this time of day
Just one new thread and I'm on my way
Before The Man taps us and finds out why

Don't miss me, just pray for me
She's paved the way for me
If only she knew what I know

'Cos I'm leaving on a jet plane
F**k all if I come back again
Trust me, I'm ready to go

There's so many times I've joked around
About how many times I've slept around
Till she told me, that's real bad for my health

But she'll be waiting to unpack my bags
Put ice on my head, if I'm jet lagged
Unless Brend pays those hijackers himself

Don't miss me, just pray for me
She's there to wait for me
I'll spend a day holding her hands

'Cos I'm leaving on a jet plane
F**k all if I come back again
The US that is, not TransFans

{worst pun ever}

You're about to get Fuku-Fuku. :D

{/..worst}

Also, when you get there, be sure to report what the Japs seems to think deep down, about the plans to maybe get some nuces because of North-Corea. :)

Have a safe flight, and good luck with your new home! :)

Btw, my sis is in Osaka now touring with the Hungarian Opera House Orchestra - they'll visit pretty much every big japanese city in the upcoming weeks holding concerts, should you want to attend one! :)

Oh, that wacky Kevin Rich!

Seriously though, you're going to give a more detailed description of the transforming couch. It's captured my heart and imagination.

Actually, as of last week, it's wacky Dr. Kevin Rich.

Basically, it's a folding futon. Instead of being part of a larger device, though, it shifts and folds and changes from bed to couch...and back again!

Japanese food is excellent, by the way. Why exactly were you so apprehensive of it?

I've always liked Japanese food, so that wasn't the issue. I've just always hated American food. Which, having lived in the US for 23 years, was a problem. It's a good part of the reason I'm 6 foot 3 and 155 pounds.

Funny story about that. I was tutoring a student on some halloween vocabulary. Vampires, werewolves, giants, snakes, etc. I asked what the vampire does. He sucks. I asked what the werewolf does. He howls. I asked what the giant does. (short pause) He teaches english.
