Interesting case, how do you stop a site like that? As far as I can tell, while the site's owner is clearly a nazi nutter, he hasn't actually broken the law, and there are far worse sites out there. It's hosted in the US and as long as he doesn't actually encourage violence himself, he's not going to get closed down because of the whole free speech thing.

Check out the site, there's some scary stuff, but the articles about "what the scum say about redwatch" and their fan mail make for interesting reading. Mostly it's kind of sad.

...and here we are being forced to dance to the tune of 'find the terrorist' while stuff like this is happening under our noses.

I know which scares me the most. And whats even scarier is that the current political climate is making these ****ers more acceptable to the stupider end of the electorate.

Until 5 months ago I lived in a part of Sheffield with a ratio of 60:40 Asian-origin muslim to white. The BNP stood a candidate in the the local council elections (who was from London, IIRC) who got 200 votes in a comunity of about 5000 people.

If my maths is right, thats about 10% of the white population (assuming all the voters were white, which is likely but not neccesarily true, I suppose).

Would that have happened before the 'war on terrorism' began? (off topic - I hate it when they say 'terror' when they mean 'terrorism'!!).

Didn't know you have such a powerful racist party in the UK... guess the growing number of immigrants are unnerving some people, but this is just waay brutal. If the police could trace the attacks back to Redwatch, why can't they simply shut down the whole organisation?

Largely because of plausible deniability - despite the fact that Kevin Watmough is a racist bigot with srong links to other racist organisations like the NF and C18, all he actually does on his site is publish people's name, photographs, phone numbers and addresses. There's nothng on his site urging people to attack these guys, no provocation, just information.

However, he does run several other, more overtly racist sites and it has been proven that he was involved with the Mole Intelligence Bureau on Yahoo boards which *was* a place where NF thugs swapped addresses with the expressed intent to go and cause harm to people. It's hard to believe no-one could put a case together to send him down.

Though I hesitate to link to his site, this first article featured (from the magazine Searchlight) is very informative about how this kind of thing is run, and gives a lot of very specific information about the organisation of Redwatch.
