It looks like i might have just have bought a house...
Well, started the process anyway....
I've made an offer on somewhere, the owner's agreed to it and taken said property off of the market - my broker is now on the case with the mortgage.
Gah!! I'm scared!

aye! i'm loving the prospect of having my own place - to be able to do what i want when i want, to not have to worry about flatmates, to just be able to say "this is my home"!
but then i think of the money and the prospect of a 25 year mortgage! ack!
i also have just realised that, whilst i own enough electronics to kit out a whole flat all by own - i don't have a sofa or a fridge or a cooker or washing machine! oops...

Aye, they are! I've ended up in the Hornchurch area... it's quite nice and it's on the District line , so transport into London 'proper' isn't a problem. (even if it is zone 6)Best First wrote:nice one.
whereabouts?
house prices are bloody stupid in London - at least they are in the bell end areas i want to live in...
Not sure when i'll be moving, still need to find another 5k for my deposit on the mortgage, but fingers crossed can scavange it from somewhere...

You have a floor. Floors are under-rated. You can't fall off 'em, unlike sofas.Legion wrote:i don't have a sofa
It'll be winter when you move in. Leave the milk and beer outside. It'll be fine.Legion wrote:or a fridge ...
A man can live via microwave and takaways alone!Legion wrote:or a cooker ...
Hmmm. Will you still be popping round to your folks now and again....just to visit, of course....Legion wrote:or washing machine! oops...

Out east. I like the East End, but really couldn't afford to buy anywhere there... or the places i could afford i'd be living in a demilitarized zoneBest First wrote:that east or west?
Hornchurch is out past Barking, almost Romford (essex).
Thankfully i have my own bed, that, at least is something!Scraplet wrote:You have a floor. Floors are under-rated. You can't fall off 'em, unlike sofas.Legion wrote:i don't have a sofa
In what will probably be the warmest winter on record? Just my luck!Scraplet wrote:It'll be winter when you move in. Leave the milk and beer outside. It'll be fine.Legion wrote:or a fridge ...
Takaways cost money... microwave meals it'll have to be!!Scraplet wrote:A man can live via microwave and takaways alone!Legion wrote:or a cooker ...

Good luck with this, I'm hoping to buy a house next summer, should have about 250,000 cash to spend, but house prices in York are still on the up, I'll either have to compromise on area or distance from the centre probably.
One of my ex's lives close to where your moving to Ilford I believe. Travel expences for her are murder, assuming your working close to the centre of London. I think MV has met her actually.

Aye, Ilford won't be far!
Travel's gonna cost me about 150 a month i think... ouch!
I should hear in a week or so about definite confirmation, it's all still rather prilimary at the moment... (offer's been accepted, just waiting to hear about whether i can get the mortgage or not)
*cross fingers and just about everything else that i can cross*

Guess what!!
I've only gone and become a bonefide property owner!
Yup, as of tuesday, i moved into my new flat... and it's mine all mine!!
Unfortunately have also been struck down with some kind of fluey bug thing, which isn't nice, and means i've hardly unpacked at all... but the awesome view across london from my bedroom window in the morning has been helping to cheer me up!
and it's mine, all mine!
no stupid landlords, no mental flatmates... just a bit of a mortgage...
mwahahahahhahahahahahahhahahaha.... *cough*
