very strange

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

very strange

Post by Kaylee » Sun Oct 01, 2006 11:10 am

Had a very intense crash last night. Including convulsions, which are something new. movement is prettu limited, it took me nearly an hour to getup afterwards. i feel sort of broken, very fractured. i can type pretty good but things involving complicated movements (like making tea and toast) take forever. sort of a mental block on multistep physical activitieis- i know whjat to do but mentally moving from one step to then enext (i,.e. put bread in toaster, get plate from cupboard) is immensely difficult. dont feel depressed right now, just broken. like im not firing on all cylinders. am, going to see the doctor no monday... can't have stuff like this happening. thought id let you know.

Sounds pretty serious, listen to your mates on these here boards Mr. Lynch, and go see a doctor.

Also, I think that the smarter a person is, the more worried that person is, and the less happy he is. Ergo, that ep with Homer Simpson suddenly becoming intelligent, but unhappy, kind of shows some of the mechanisms.

Err...

Sounds like you might be beginning to suffer from something like psychogenic NEAD.

I know two people who've recently been diagnosed with it, and for both it's been due to emotions and stress.

Not trying to offend or anything, but from what I've picked up about you from your time on here, Karl, you seem like a prime candidate to be a sufferer of this.

Very important is that you don't wait until Monday to get looked at. You've already done nothing towards it for half a day, and you're still recovering from that initial attack.

Don't think "oh, I'll feel better in a while. I'll go to the doctor's on monday"

Call an ambulance now, tell them you've had some kind of attack and get it looked at down at A&E. The sooner you're getting examined, the sooner it can be treated and the sooner you'll be well again.

Here's hoping that whatever it turns out to be, it won't be around you for too long, and also that it won't take too long for the docs to figure out what it is in the first place.

Their advice was to go see my GP on Monday, they're pretty convinced the physical problems were nervous issues from my psychological state.

I feel better now... this morning I was just shellshocked and unable to do anything, I could hardly move. Almost normal now.

... though that may not be the best thing, as it wouldn't offer an explanation...

... er. Yeah. Hope it's something simple.

Take care, mate. All the best. :)

My GP won't see me until at least tomorrow o.O

Emergency appointments have to be made around 8am.

You'd think the nature of an emergency would mean they don't always happen before 8. Rats.

I got 7 valium tablets.

That's it. Seven tablets for 5 years of mood swings, depression, suicidal thoughts, crying, and insane manias.

And I was also told that doing sport might give me an outlet for my feelings and help me 'martial' them.

Sport. So when I'm laying on the floor next time crying, twisted by muscle spasms etc. I'm meant to go out for a nice game of football.

And I got an appointment to see the community nurse who will very kindly listen to my feelings.

I have friends who have for years provided me that facility out of the kindness of their hearts, how will a community nurse do anything any differently?

In short I've been made to feel like a stupid waste of time. I can't afford to go private, so this is basically it. 7 valium tablets and advice to take up a sport.

Now that is depressing. Sadly the valium doesn't help, I feel just as bad but also sleepy.

Did I mention I had to pay for this valium?

I should never have bothered. I should have just carried on as I was/am.

Sorry to hear that mate.

Don't give up just yet-go for a second opinion, or even a third, fourth or fifth until you get a doctor who will get you the help you need. You don't have to accept what the first doctor said-you know how you're suffering, he obviously hasn't got a clue.

Take care dude. :)

Does your doctor know that you have been having this for so many years, or did he treat this as a one-of thingy?

*hug*
