If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Cell Phone Ring Tones
Post
by Laser Rod Optimus Prime » Tue Sep 12, 2006 4:20 pm
I recently had to buy a new cheap cell phone after my old one went kaput on me, and it's a motorola phone capable of letting you input your own ringtones manualy. So I'm wondering if anyone knows a good site that lists ringtones and what to input for it to sound right.

Generally, so do I, but I have this overwhelming desire to put the classic tetris theme on mine as a ringtone...
Geeky, yes... annoying... *shrug*

Ooh! Ooh! I use that one too!
Although, I do use the most irritating mp3 I've found to date as my wake-up alarm.
For reference to what I'm on about, go

When I'm home I use a ringtone ('cause then I don't carry it around in my pocket).
When I'm not home I have it on "silent" and vibrate.
Can't believe I'm still here.

I need a ringtone because girl's trousers/skirts/dresses don't have pockets that you actually can use.
The buffy theme would be a nice ringtone.
I just have the old-fashioned 'ring' that phones used to have, on my mobile.

My phone is meant to go "grr. argh" when I get a text.
But it doesn't because the model won't let me customise the message alerts.
Grrr. Argh.

Download a pikey version of cooledit.
Chop up your mp3s.
Attach your phone to your comp.
Download your little customs and use them as your ring tones.
