If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

You'll be fine.
Just remember - no cuddling after, and don't expect me to call you in the morning.
Grrr. Argh.

So where did you find the lucky lass at?

Met on Saturday. Drank, danced, laughed, and a bit more.
But this is more make or break I feel. Only got an hour and a half, no more, to make a lasting impression.

Ah, so she's not important enough for you to cancel whatever you're doing to be able to spend more time with her, should she decide she wants to do so herself?
... sorry... just extrapolating all the ways it can go boom. It's a reflex.
Grrr. Argh.

It might just be the other way round.
She's helping a mate move house.

I don't know if boom is a euphemism for things going bad or intercourse, or both, but I think you've got a point. Emergency schedule flexibility is definitely a good thing.
On the other hand, leaving her wanting more ain't so bad either.

Though one must be careful not to take the notion to extremes.
Leaving as soon as you've said hello doesn't really qualify as having the desired effect...

What are you going to do? Dinner?
She's probably as nervous as you are.
Have fun!

Whatever you do,
don't rub your beard against her face.
Apparently women don't like that.
Good luck!
Can't believe I'm still here.

Don't forget the flowers.
Women like the silly, overly-traditional types, they think it's sweet.

No flowers. Unless you meet at her house where she is going to cook you a dinner.
(It's a bit awkward to have a bunch of flowers when you are sitting in a restaurant or movie theatre)

At the end of the date you should totally grab a random flower from somewhere and give it to her.
Hell, it worked on me
Can't believe I'm still here.

What I do when I REALLY want a date to go well is go beforehand to some park, find a VERY good hiding place, and put some flowers there.
Then, I stage an "impromptu" walk in the park, where I just happen to find flowers to give to her. Works every time.
