Paul, you're so right. You tell it like it is, man! Can I have your babies? Or, alternatively, major consulting credit on your next project?Best First wrote:1) The sycophants, who ask brain dead questions and swallow whetever they are told. There are usuallyu some sycophants who seem a bit more reasonable than others but at the end of the day are stil just trying to cosy up to the director/producer, whatever. These people will probably address the 'celebrity' by their first name as if the are mates
Shut the [composite word including 'f*ck'] up. I've been a Transformers fan since 1967, and I've been on the internet since 1973, and you're talking bollocks with that. I know what makes this fandom work - and you're killing it with this attitude towards the people who make it what it is - the REAL FANS like me who can quote every line from City of Steel and know that the REAL Transformers The Movie is better than Godfather Part II due to the soundtrack.2) The overly nagative, who just turn up and swear a lot and discount things out of hand before they have a chance to really see them. These people also tend to insist they know the franchise better than anyone else and will almost certainly at some point mention how long they have been a fan of said franchise
Fair comment... but maybe don't write off so many people. A lot of the other groups are just naive and need a good smack round the head to give 'em some perspective.3) The reasonable people who care about the property and want to challenge some of the thinking and are willing to push back on empty answers but do their best to keep their cool at the same time. These people invariably give up due to the actions of 1) and 2).
Which, of course, we all know is the Ladybird books.Of course this is amplied even more with TFs given the diverse range of opinions on what are the core elements of the TF franchise.
Pretty much so, yeah. This happens a lot at the IDW forums. Some won't criticise a thing, others love taking the chance to take a shot at the makers whilst they can. But I admire the company's approach when dealing with fans even if results will always be mixed. Dreamwave were the complete opposite.Best First wrote:
So essentially, even though its is 'good' of these people to talk to the fans i think it becomes a fairly pointless exercise in most cases due to the above dynamic.
