I would do except for my dreadful phobia of needles and blood (which makes me a fun person to be around just when I need to have a tiny injection- you can imagine what I'd be like with blood donations!)

Definitely a very good cause and definitely needed- if you really want to save someone's life without having to do very much at all, this is the way to do it.

I have to say I too have a phobia of needles so bad that I go faint and week at the knees.

It started when I was a child, I was about5 and a doc tried to take a blood sample from me - it took 14 times to find my vien as he was a trainne doctor...scared the crp out of me, scared for life.

Id rather have body parts removed then an injection.

Good Christ, that sounds monstrous! I get very wibbly myself- mainly because I panic myself into a pretty unpleasant state, which produces tons of adrenaline which (unless used in rapid movements) tends to knock you out o.O

Anyways though- good cause, so anybody without a phobia of needles/blood should seriously go along with it.

I'd give blood, except that for the last time I had a sample taken by my doctor, I woke up on the floor in a pool of the stuff and with a great big hole in my bottom lip from where my front teeth went straight through on impact with the ground.

I still have the scar.

two more reasons I cant give blood.

1. Its full of beer.

2. My blood is so amazing that if other ppl used my blood they to would become amazing and thus this would upset the balance of mankind! - and I dont want to do that.

I'm probably a perfect donor tho, since I believe I've got blood-type 0.

My blood type's the only A+ I'll ever get...

Probably the reason they tried to sucker us into a blood drive when we got sent for Ex Crescendo or something in Brunei. It's supposed to be rare.

The other time us brothers were talking about bleeding racehorses, so I mentioned that theoretically horses should have four blood types as well. Neigh, Whinny, NeighWhinny, and O.

Blood groups are only a genetic throughback to a time before white blood cells evolved, anyway.

I wonder what the blood levels for vets are like...
