I really wanted this book to be hilarious, and although it gave me a couple of laugh out loud moments, it was generally weak and felt forced-like when someone unfunny makes people laugh, and then tries to keep the joke going, if that makes sense?Best First wrote:to be honest i picked it up and i thought i was a bit weak, certainly an air of trying too hard.
i bought it at the same time as 'Is it me or is everything ****' so maybe it suffered by way of comparison.
I still think his web-stuff is great, but had the book been my first experience of him, I wouldn't have bothered with his site.

We used to watch that show here in Singapore. I'm sure I'd remember an ep with four dudes wearing the same kind of pants, though.Optimus Prime Rib wrote:http://ebaumsworld.com/2006/07/rainbow.html
Yeah, it suffers in comparison to his site, and the profusion of fart jokes instead of the usual social commentary is a bit jarring, but I thought it was decently entertaining. It is notable that the sections of the book that aren't trying to fit the alphabet style are the best bits.Pissin' Poonani wrote:I really wanted this book to be hilarious, and although it gave me a couple of laugh out loud moments, it was generally weak and felt forced-like when someone unfunny makes people laugh, and then tries to keep the joke going, if that makes sense?Best First wrote:to be honest i picked it up and i thought i was a bit weak, certainly an air of trying too hard.

Did you guys check out Tucker Max's and Robert Hamburger's books as well?
Is it Me or Is Everything **** is great, but kind of a one time only deal, I thought. But again, I guess that's because internet things like Holy Moly and stuf are presented fresh and don't date like stuff in a book.
Curse that internet!
