Installed legal copy of photoshop, registered it, it crashes

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Honestly? It seems to be much easier to download cracked copies and scan them carefully for viruses/malware even if you've got a legit copy.

Try a full uninstall of the software and any previous versions, then reinstall. Might be worth a look on Adobe's website to see if they offer a custom uninstaller, like Symantec/Norton do with their invasive-installing products.

Which version of photoshop is it? Is it one of the CS versions? if so, i've found that, rather crapply, they can sometimes hang after loading if they can't connect to the internet (either becuase of no connection or because they are firewalled). Beyond that, no idea mate.

IT is CS2 and it did have extreme problems connecting to the old internet - I had to register it using the phone.

Hmmm...

What a pile of ****!

Download a copy of 7 - it's great to use (all the little annoying things from 6 are fixed) and it's pretty robust - I literally just copied the installation from one HD to another and it still works fine.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Think I'll do that actually.

Mine is a legal copy but I piked it from work so I'm not out of pocket.

Ah... good old 'legal', where the only work is in acquiring it.

No need to fork out cash. No need to check for viruses, malware or crippleware. Just good old 'legal'.

Does it get any better than 'legal'?

Oh, and here's the obligatory *cough* ;)

Well, it is legitimate then, in that my company paid for it and it should install and run from go, without the use for cracks etc.
