So, I've read that he behaved like a total asshole when Tottenham scored (and after the game), calling the whole thing a "disgrace".
What's up with him? I thought the Arse-man was a nice guy.
I hope Tottenham grabs the fourth place.
I read this in a swedish newspaper, so if it's not true don't blame me

Might not do anything good for Spurs, though. UEFA are gits and after FA fooled them last year, I heard something about not letting fourth team from Premiership play in Champions League this time if Arsenal wins the thing this season.Obfleur wrote:I hope Tottenham grabs the fourth place.
Kudos for Keane who again shows that grabbing him for my Fantasy Footy League team was just a dandy idea.
Basically, we've (Spurs) been mediocre for a decade. And this has coincided with Arsenal having arguably gone through their most successful period in history.
Well, last season we started to get good. And our progress continued this year. Arsenal on the other hand have started to slide. Wenger is pretty worried as Arsenal have been massively shown up as a 1 man team this year. That man (Henry) is about to leave them for nothing. This makes me very happy.
We basically pissed on them in their own backyard and they didn't like it, even though they typically scored a late equaliser.
Pretty much everybody with common sense has reached the obvious opinion that Wenger is acting like a massive wanker.
What happened was that Carrick, who is playing out of his skin, went on a little run. He beat one, then 2 more. The two he beat at the same time actually ran into each other. Very funny!
Carrick slowed down and looked at the ref, who was right by them. No head injuries, they were both infact getting back up. Gilberto more or less was standing up. Play on. They postured a bit, as THEY WERE SCREWED! this is the real reason why they wanted the ball kicked out. We were in a very good position. So we played on and scored. Simple.
Wenger accused us of being liars - Jol said he didn't see it and has been shown on TV as not watching the incident, he was telling Davids to stay onside. Funnily enough, saying 'I didn't see it' is a typical Wengerism, as most pundits and fans on the various phone ins have pointed out. Is their a word for irony in French?
He also said it was disgraceful that we didn't kick the ball out after two of their own players ran into each other and didn't get injured! ****!
ok, here's something amusing I've dug up, from a match report in the Times on an FA cup game they played a couple of years ago:
"For sure, United should have been awarded a free-kick when Sol Campbell fouled Wayne Allison but it was up to referee Poll to blow the whistle.
Instead, with Allison not having a head wound, Arsenal broke at speed with Poll compounding United's grievances by colliding with Michael Tonge to take him out of the game.
Arsenal took full advantage through Ljungberg and, thanks to Seaman's enduring reflexes at the age of 39 and yet more good fortune, they eventually prevailed."
....... Sounds to me like that one was far more cut and dried - a player injurd and not getting up and another player colliding with the ref - surely that's worse than two of your own players colliding and both able to get up and continue?
In another game with Sheff Utd, Arsenal actually did something even more sly and unsporting (although totally fair and fairly funny) and scored a very pikey goal - they actually gave Sheffield United a reply over that incident.
I wouldn't mind playing them again, we should have been 3-0 up by half time anyway.
I think we should sue Wenger for lible, he is after all a ****.

A Sheffield United Fan With A Long Memory Writes...
I hope Arsene Wenger feels ashamed when he wakes up this morning. The pressure is obviously getting to him. It would be nice to see him reprimanded by the FA for his behaviour and his “liars" and "cheats” comments but that seems unlikely given that he’s not called “Neil Warnock”.
How can he complain about Tottenham’s goal? His comments are embarrassing in the light of certain incidents under his managership of Arsenal.
Some commentators have disingenuously compared it with the oh-so-generously replayed Arsenal v Sheffield United FA Cup 5th round game from February 1999, to try and put Arsenal in a more favourable light. That was a totally different situation. In that instance, the ball had been put out of play as a result of an injury to United’s winger, Lee Morris. He was genuinely injured and was substituted. After the substitution, most players from both teams were standing in the centre of the pitch waiting for the ball to be returned to United’s goalkeeper and for play to resume. Instead of returning the ball, Arsenal took a quick throw-in down the line, resulting in a “two-on-none” situation, and Overmars easily sidefooted into an empty net. Not quite the same as Saturday’s goal.
A closer analogy is the FA Cup semi-final from April 2003 (again, Arsenal v Sheffield United!) when Wayne Allison was "injured" (well, at least as “injured” as the Arsenal players today) after being crudely taken from behind by Sol Campbell (note - not after running into one of his own players). Allison stayed down in Arsenal’s half, but Arsenal took advantage and played on. Moments later, Michael Tonge was clearly about to intercept an Arsenal pass when he was sent flying over by Graham Poll. Again, Arsenal took advantage, and with two United players out of the picture went on to score. They won 1-0 and went through to the FA Cup Final.
I don’t recall Wenger complaining about that goal.
So his comments that “in English football, it is the first time I have seen that, and in a crucial game" and that “I couldn't do it; you cannot steal a game by acting like that” are slightly annoying for a Sheffield United supporter.

Fuming Wenger lets fly at 'lying' Jol

Forget Arsenal versus Tottenham, the most entertaining encounter at Highbury came when a certain Mr Pot met his mate Mr Kettle, as Arsene Wenger accused Martin Jol, his opposite number, of myopia, lying and 'stealing the game away'.
What got Wenger's goat was the fact that not only did Tottenham's players fail to kick the ball out of play when Emmanuel Eboue and Gilberto Silva collided in the build-up to Robbie Keane's goal in the 66th minute, but that Jol claimed not to have seen the incident. An unusually ruffled Wenger had a head-to-head confrontation with Jol at the time, then refused to shake hands with him afterwards and accused him of lying when the Spurs manager echoed what has become Wenger's trademark comment on controversy - 'I didn't see it.'
To be fair to Jol, he was telling the truth, admitting he was more concerned with ensuring Edgar Davids did not stray offside. When Wenger's accusations were put to him, the affable Dutchman said: 'Irrespective of all the rights and wrongs, I don't think a manger should behave like that. He called me a liar and I am not a liar. I told him I didn't see it, and you can see that on television. I was telling Edgar Davids twice "Don't be offside" and then we scored.'
Jol hit back at the Arsenal players for making more of their 'injuries' than necessary. 'I didn't see it myself, but people told me that of the two players involved, one was standing up and then fell down again after seeing Davids going towards goal. You shouldn't act like that.'
The goal maintained Spurs' four-point lead over Arsenal and further enhance their chances of a finishing fourth. Arsenal have a game in hand, but if Tottenham beat Bolton at home next week and West Ham away on the final day, they will qualify for the Champions League - unless Arsenal win the competition.

Wenger and Mourinho are the biggest pair of whinging tits in existence and theres absolutely no reason for them to be like this they've got good teams, both successful and doing well with great players, why whenever they lose is it because the other side was lucky or cheated, but their own team never does it. I fear Wenger may actually have the last laugh as I can see Tottenham finishing 4th and Arsenal winning the Champions League
