Video editting help

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Video editting help

Post by Legion » Tue Mar 14, 2006 8:09 pm

Dunno if anyone here can help with this, but i've been recently helping out transferring some old family home videos to DVD (from a variety of sources, but mainly VHS). I've been using Adobe Premiere. But the problem i've got is that some of the footage is exceedingly dark, seriously, you can hardly tell there's a picture there in some frames unless there's lots of movement.
I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with this sort of thing or knows of any ideas (crack pot or otherwise) how to fix this sort of thing. Now i know it's going to be bad, with such a poor source, i ain't expecting anything great as an end result... but something would be nice....

so... any thoughts?

A program like adobe Premm or after effects will alow you to adjust the colour ranges values etc much like you can in photoshop - essentially the same tools but applied to film.

You can download a 30 day trial from adobe, im sure you know the rest from there ;) (or PM me)

yeah, have got premier pro, but not quite getting the results i was hoping for... mind you that might be due to my skill rather than the program... i'll keep at it i think :)
