Today was a good day

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I achieved one of my short-term goals and also one of my long-term goals.

I watched the Peacekeeper Wars on Channel 5.

And I touched Natalie Portman.

Oh yes.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Oh, days when you don't even have to use your AK are great. Yay for having one :)

I caught the middle bit of it. Seemed a bit flat out of context with the rest of the series.

Loved it the first time, though.

Intend to go back and rewatch the whole damn lot some point later this year. Currently ploughing through Buffy and Angel in fullblown back/forth-keep-everything-in-continuity-order mode, tho...
Grrr. Argh.

I watched the whole thing from start to finish. Never seen any trailers or spoilers or anything, in fact nothing since Chrichton and Aeryn were blown up at the end of S4. Really, really enjoyed it. It's essentially what we wanted, a big ****-off battle to end the series on and it delivers. Some moments I was completely on the edge of my seat - they're trapped in a room filling with paralysing gas, so the Scarrans can dissect them while they're still alive, and outside the room is a ship full of Scarrans who want to kill them - I'm like, how the **** are they going to get out of this one? Plus, it was big on continuity, which I like, and had lots of recurring characters from the series. Top marks.

Her hand, we bumped hands as she returned someone's autograph. I pressed the flesh with Queen Amidala.

Did they show the whole thing as one movie? Just ask because the gas chamber was originally the cliffhanger for the first part.

Shouldn't Jool have been drooling over D'Argo instead of Chrichton, though?

Did a cracking job of squeezing a season's worth of plot into a few of hours. Not as good as Serenity, tho.

You should have kidnapped her. Put her in your pocket - she's tiny, nobody would have noticed.
Grrr. Argh.

Yeah, I got the idea it was edited a bit, but it was on from 9-11:30ish, so a good run. And there were some pretty gruesome bits, surely they would have cut those first...

Ah, minor quibbles. Like how the spoiler spoiler Aeryn spoiler spoiler Rigel spoiler spoiler Aeryn spoiler spoiler so quickly. It's a bit of dramatic license.

I do need to watch Serenity again though. Mmmm.

Of course I wanted to kidnap her, I was dressed as V from out of V for Vendetta, I was in the comic shop just beforehand and I am kicking myself stupid for not picking up a copy the graphic novel while I was there...I could have got it signed and taken it straight back there for 5 times the price. Or kept it for myself on lonely nights.

[edit] Pictures!

I'm no David Bailey, and my phone was fast running out of oomph at this point, which is probably why Nat looks like she's seen the Ring in that last one...

Yes, she said three things to me*.

"Hello."
"I'm not allowed to sign blank paper."
"Room 71, the Hilton."

*One of these may not be true.

You should have told her, "You're only beautiful because you're in love."

She goes for that.
