Saw.

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

The only clever thing about the movie was how they made you think it was going somewhere up until the end where they threw in that amazing twist. And by amazing twist I mean nonsensical rubbish. Saw 2 (what I watched of it) was just as bad, and had a lot of actors in it who were like bargain basement versions of other actors. Don't worry though, I didn't pay to see either of them. I may have let the filmmakers waste my time, but I didn't line their pockets for the pleasure.

They're making a sequel to White Noise. Nathan Fillion and Katee Sackoff are the leads.

[/unrelated].
Grrr. Argh.

People told me that Saw was "genious" and "smart", which made me think "oh my god. This is gonna be like Alien, or The Shining or Hitchock!"
But it was just your random crap horror flick with a dude in a red dress and a pig mask.
Nothing spectacular at all.

I did actually enjoy a lot of it, moreso than seven at any rate. The ending absolutely ruined it for me though.

whats wrong with the ending. the guy had been made to kill everyonem, which is plot consistent as thats what the saw guy always wants his victims to do.
And the saw guy was watching, again consistent as thats what he always does and gets off on.

Makes perfect sense.

It was more that when they revealed who the saw guy was I didn't find it believable that he could have set up half the stuff he did.

Jigsawbitch was a cancer patient that the doctor treated, if my memory serves me correctly.

Movies are supposed to be unrealistic, I understand that. You cant nitpick everything.
But Saw was to much.
It also had horrible acting.

SPOILERS OH HELLZOR!!!!!!!!

Dude, I warned you.

...

It's just too much that Jigsaw was laying on the floor all the time. Absolutely still, face down, for at least six hours.

And a bunch of other crap.

I enjoyed Saw, but what bothered me was how Jigsaw was able to lay on the floor for the entire duration of the film, wearing nothing but pants and a vest, and no one noticed him breathing (or he was able to control his breathing so that it was completely undetectable).

Well, if it hadn't been for the cancer and the descent into serial-killer style madness, maybe that image would have come to fruition. Alas, t'was not meant to be.

I liked how the director tried to show that the doctor hade gone insane "Okey.. you have been locked up in this room for six hours and absolutely nothing has happened to you. No insanity, no desperation, no nothing.
We'll have to change that *throws a fist full of flour in the doctors face* There.. all done. Now try and act crazy!"

Well he had an awful lot of info for someone who was just a cancer patient. And amazing physical superpowers, especially for someone dying of cancer. I think it was just because everyone said it was clever that I felt a bit let down. There was nothing to make me believe the guy could have access to everything he did.

I took it at face value - it looks a bit tacky and cheap but overall ive seen so much worse. its just sort of average.

I mean how come final destination is on film 3?

I liked the sado face clamps and stuff in Saw, at appeals to a dark side of me, muhahahaha

I thought Saw was a decent enough horror rollercoaster, save the painful, squirm in your seat, are we watching MST3K, acting of Cary Elwes.

Saw 2 was completly stupid and bad.

It sounds like 'Jaws' and they want to make as many movies as Jaws had. My guess?

I went to see final destination 3 last night because the missus wanted to see it, and I have to admit it was okay. Clever set up and some of the grossest (is that a word??!!) deaths in the series. Not wanting to give to much away, if you're ever in a drive through and someone beeps you to move quicker, just bloody do it! Also it has compounded my fear of rollercoasters, so there goes another 10 years where I can't do anything on theme park trips!
