Iron Fist redesign

Post by KingMob » Sun Jan 29, 2006 12:43 pm

Hey all,
No finished art here, just 3 crappy concept pics for an Iron Fist redesign.
In case you are not aware of who Iron Fist is:
http://www.samruby.com/Heroes/Ironfist/ironfist.htm
He is bessie mates with Luke Cage, ex-Power Man and now New Avenger.
Cage has been reimagined as an 'urban' character in recent years, and, the odd guest appearance in Daredevil or something aside, poor Iron Fist has been left behind in a very dated 70's concept.
So I decided to have a go at doing something with him so he and Cage can be home with the downies together with less chance of mocking.

I was wondering, if it's possible, if peeps could let me know which if the jacket types they prefer, and if there are any details that could be improved on? Thanks.

Those are really cool. :)

I like them all to be honest, but jacket-wise, I'd have to go witht the shorter one. I don't know anything about the character, so as far as I'm concerned there aren't any changes that need to be made-well, for some reason I'm curious to see how he'd look if all the green on his uniform was the same dark-green as his jacket, but that's about it.

Tres' cool. :)

The second design with the shorter jacket is the best. However, I think you should take the lose straps of the longer jacket and apply them on the shorter, since his old costume did sport a few lose straps.

Also, altho the dragon-scar on his chest is partially visible, I think it would be interesting if you could find some clever way to show off the symbol on the actual costume.

Maybe on the sleeves or on the gloves or something...

That's my 2 cents.

Thanks, guys, The shorter jacket is my preferred too, but I did a longer one after talking with a mate. He might be making a custom from this and he preferred a longer coat, ha ha.

Perhaps I could put a dragon patch on his jacket or something, yeah...

Cheers again!
