"wasting" your life?/Random seasonal gift-type inq

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I kinda feel that way. And at the same time, I don't.

I'm living it, really, I'm a very "in the moment" type of person so I suppose it's little "waste", most times... I'm fine with wasting my life on utter temporary ***** when I'm in the middle of it but on reflection it's getting a bit boring though. And if I look forward, I don't see the current path I'm on turning into anything interesting. More of the same, just a different type of same everyday.

I've once again thought of school. But I really do want to know, is that overhyped? Is it just another way to waste one's life?

Just a random inquiry, brought to you by rather cold fingers. I want a nice device that will keep my hands warm without having the feel of gloves/mittens [hate that bundled up feeling on my hands] and that will still allow me to light a cigarette without having to expose my hands to the elements for Christmas.

What one fanciful thing do you want for Christmas? Something utterly made-up that would be nice to have. Like, y'know, the sun. I haven't seen it recently, I don't think it exists anymore.

Without getting all angsty, everything is. I just find learning/sharing and looking out "new stuff" an interesting way of doing it.

Fanciful gift? Some kind of device that translated thought into reality would be nice.

everything is.
Isn't that just so true, though? It's brilliant. No, I didn't mean the topic to sound at all blahed... it was just a random musing. Amused me more than anything. This is, basically, life. To waste as a person sees fit. It isn't really a waste if it's enjoyed... at the same time, at that moment of writing I was thinking a bit ahead, beyond the everyday bit of temporary gratification.

Ooh. I know what you're on about... but I can't help but wonder how fun things in life would continue to be if things were as easy as that. Easier tends to be taken for granted after awhile.

Similar: Something that translated a meaning, something you're trying to get across to someone but can't find the right way to phrase. Y'know... to avoid upsetting or giving a wrong/other impression. I could definitely use me one of thems... :p

I know what you mean, as a general rule of thumb, i'm fairly content-ish day to day, wasting time, somedays are better than others tho (and some worse) but i'm, unfortunately, always looking to the future, thinking things will get better... they never do (and foruntely, they don't tend to get worse).

Bah, maybe it's just the seasonal blues i'm suffering with at the moment. Normally i've a very Christmassy person (not one of those annoying over board types i hasten to add, but someone who enjoys the fun!), but at the moment, it just ain't clicking with me. :(

As to the pressie thing, i'd quite like my own personal holodeck from star trek.

Those gloves sound interesting. Though it's more the actual "feel" of having gloves on I hate... can't feel much through them, and I'm a person that uses my hands. I like to be able to feel things. Wearing gloves deadens my sense of touch, it's annoying.

:D Actually, I'd like to see one of those in Snarl's hands. Just to see what would happen.

but drink fixs things, for a bit.
I find that things get complicated after a bit of drinking. Mainly because of this.

Oops.

A person's got to enjoy life, take chances if that's what will help and all. It's too short to spend on hangups... imo there's nothing after this, so I intend on trying to actually live mine. I don't want to be old and go "Gee, I wish I'd done this or that", y'know?

I've been thinking. All the things I want/have wanted to do, I'm making a list and I'm going to try and do them. D'you think this will work?

[Making a Transfans get-together is probably going to be on that list, BTW. So you all had better still be having them in a year or so's time or else I will cry. :( ;) ]

Yep! Take a chance.

Best to regret what you did than what you didn't.
