I was wondering. How did you choose your transfan nicks? Some of you have the names of tfs, full names, nicknames (presumably) and other combinations. How and why did you choose the nicks you have?

The Spiders from Mars were Ziggy Stardust's backing band. Ziggy himself was the fictional alter ego of David Bowie. 'Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' is one of his best albums, released back in 1972. It was a concept album about a cross dressing alien who came to Earth and warned it would end in five years, and who then became a rock and roll star and committed suicide!

I was Impactor, then I lost the pass word, so I became 'Impactor Returns' - which is cool as he did also return in the comic.
When the board moved to this new format I became Impactor Returns 2.0 to try and sound cool, alas it didnt....

My sister used to call me sprunkner. It's a corruption of Spencer, my real name, which sounds a bit like sphincter, which I got called, too sometimes.

Anyway, when I was first venturing into the Net I became sprunkner on everything because it was never taken and so weird that people remembered it. But if I had really thought about it, I would have been Bumblemus Prime, before Chrissy stole it.

To answer my own question.

Bejore joining transfans, for about two months, I only read the different posts people made here. Later when I decided to start posting I wanted to use the nick "Sideswipe" (my fave G1 tf) but it was already taken. So I picked The Last Autobot mainly for 2 reasons:

I always had this savior type personality of wanting to be in the last minute If someone needed me (so I related to the comic Last Autobot).

I wanted Sideswipe to be somehow the last autobot standing (not being destroyed.)

My name basically comes from 2 sources, the first being that around the age of 16-17 I was something of a Predator-fan. You know... aliens that go around the Universe with nothing better to do then engage in the sport of hunt... (I am not much of a fan nowadays)

The other one being that I had around the same time a thing for taking random words wich I for some reason liked and putting them together, making words that sorta sound reasonable, but in reality makes no sence whatsoever. The words wich I found myself playing around with, at one point, was words from the for me newly discovered Beast Wars.

Maximal - Predacon, Autobot - Dinobot, Maxcons, Autocons, Predabot, Predabot..?

I discovered the Beast Wars around the time I had started lurking Tranfans.com because I wanted to read them comics, and had for some reason taken a look into the message-board, and various other TF-resources.

Hence... a legend was soon born.

But why on earth is it Denyer?? Is it some sort of french name?? Deniér, wich has been corrupted by english?! And if it's not, then why does he name himself THE DENYER?!!

He denies Brendocon, he denies religion, he denies artists, he denies life, he denies death itself?!! How the heck would he do that?? He thinks he can deny Death itself?? Dude... she's gonna kick your ass...

I have been thinking about making a topic about this.. but not at Transfans, but at the TFarchive, since, that's truly the realm wich you rule supreme (brendocon is naught but a sham of a ruler nowadays, everybody knows that), the place to confront you with this whirlpool of madness.

Eh.. I guess that plan is in the can now...

My name's Denyer. There's no "the". And it's pronounced "den-yer". Denier is indeed a word, but is spelt with an "i".

Odds are it originally comes from Latin. Denarius.

My full name therefore means something like "custodian/guardian of stuff considered to be of worth".

a) Brend hasn't been staff at the Archive for a while, and seems very happy with that fact.

Can't remember why I chose it, but I've been too lazy to go for anything else since.

The Vendetta part comes from V for... I was also writing fanfic about a character called Vendetta at the time, and I thought Transmetal Vendetta was a cool name.
