Nice - retro with a hint of C3PO as well. They look suitably threatening, anyway. I think the big square-head look was getting to be a bit cuddly.

unlike the very original voices? hehehRebis wrote:A deep booming voice works for me.
Brian Blessed? ooh, that's not someone i'd thought of before... i don't know if i could take the cybermen as a threat with his voice coming out of them.Rebis wrote:So ideally Christopher Lee but more likely Brian Blessed.
i'd be quite happy myself if they stuck with the 80's version of the voice.
"Excellent!"

A couple of days after I get back here after several months stuck on dial-up with barely enough online time to do much more than keep my own site up-to-date, and there's a Doctor Who topic here.
I have mixed feelings about this redesign, 'cos I quite liked the '80s version. Still, it's not bad (apart from the "C" on the chest - they're an emotionless race of cyborgs not comicbook supervillains!) I guess the real test will be how they look (and sound) on TV.

yep, _apparently_ there is a reason for the "C", but it's a spoiler!Bouncelot wrote: I have mixed feelings about this redesign, 'cos I quite liked the '80s version. I like this design... though he doesn't seem very tall does he?

Difficult to tell without something else in the pic to compare him with. I really hope that they are reasonably tall.spiderfrommars wrote:I've missed our Who chats!Bouncelot wrote:A couple of days after I get back here after several months stuck on dial-up with barely enough online time to do much more than keep my own site up-to-date, and there's a Doctor Who topic here.

Now there isn't even one like it!Bouncelot wrote:My special arm. There is no other like it!
I reckon this design goes well with Tennant's outfit: Suit'n'shoes.
Much better than the boiler suits of yesteryear.
I can see this new Executive Cyberman going about his daily cyberbusiness, whipping out his personal cybercalculator (all their stuff is cyber'd, y'know ), and saying:
"...and futhermore, in the third fiscal quarter, there has been a 20% increase in cyberconversion and a 80% decrease in Doctor-related acitivity. However, due to the apparent 100% decrease in Dalek activity, projections for the fourth quarter do indicate a marked increase in Doctor-related incidents to around the 90-95% level. This may prove unacceptable, and I suggest we increase cyberconversion to at least 70% to - what did you say? GORDON'S ALIVE?!!"
